Saturday morning is always a special time of the week—peaceful and unrushed. I was smiling thinking about a sales contract close to signing that I had been working on for several months through multiple wild ups and downs. So much gratitude.

Early morning coffee made with exacting precision and poured into a preheated mug; that first sip was heavenly. A quick meditation session followed, with a more formal one scheduled for later in the morning. Eggs, toast, and coffee brought to my home office—thank you, my dear wife. So much gratitude for all of it. Life is good.

I reflect on this Ram Dass quote: “Compassion is letting people be as they need to be without changing them.” I remind myself that my life’s job description does not ask me to change others, to convince them to see life through my goggles, to correct their mistakes, or to steer them in a direction I believe is best. My universal job description is ACCEPTANCE—of everyone and everything. Closing a business deal is easy compared to understanding and accepting the motivations and values of others, especially those who are family.

Namaste, my friends. May you have a day of acceptance and happiness.
