September 9th – Oregon & Kentucky — Wilson Biochar, LLC, led by renowned biochar expert Kelpie Wilson, is proud to announce a licensing agreement with Tarter USA, a premier U.S. manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment. This first-of-its-kind partnership will dramatically scale production and expand the distribution network for the Ring of Fire Biochar Kiln®, making this affordable biochar production tool accessible to communities and land managers across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Invented by Wilson, educator and author of The Biochar Handbook (Chelsea Green, 2024), the Ring of Fire Biochar Kiln® enables landowners to cleanly and efficiently convert excess woody biomass into high-quality biochar in the field for use on site. Engineered for efficiency, portability, and durability, many kilns have completed hundreds of production cycles in the field.
Since 2020, Wilson Biochar has manufactured and distributed the Ring of Fire Biochar Kiln® which has become a trusted tool for hundreds of home owners, farmers, foresters, and land stewards across North America. With this new licensing agreement, Tarter USA’s extensive manufacturing and logistics infrastructure will dramatically increase production capacity to meet growing demand.
