Stream It This Week: TV Premieres May 25–31, 2026

If I can impart only one critical message in the final week of May 2026, it’s this: Widow’s Bay on Apple TV is the comedy-horror series you need in your life. It’s now halfway through its first season—jump in.

52nd American Music Awards (CBS, Paramount+) Music special: Live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, it’s another pop music awards show aimed at an audience that is definitely not watching CBS (or broadcast TV, for that matter). If you’re not of the younger demographic, the 52nd American Music Awards is a chance to hear and see what The Kids are into these days, like the “Social Song of the Year” category, which dares you to differentiate the TikTok tunes of PinkPantheress (pictured above), Disco Lines & Tinashe, Role Model, Tyla, and Zara Larsson. The Many Lives of Benjamin Kyle (ID, HBO Max) New true-crime docuseries: While investigating the lost 30-year history of “Benjamin Kyle,” a man suffering from a rare form of amnesia, the documentary producers stumbled into clues linking him to at least three unsolved murder cases and possibly a past career as a hitman—in other words, something juicy that ID can sell (and that we’ll totally watch). Wingman (Apple TV) Movie premiere: Harland Williams directed and stars in Wingman, which, according to Williams’ PR rounds on bro podcasts, is the kind of raunchy comedy that can’t be made anymore. His hypothetically nonexistent movie follows a flashy wingman-for-hire (Williams) as he goes to wacky extremes to help a hapless dude (Evan Marsh) win back his ex-girlfriend. As Williams says, Wingman is “totally un-woke and out of control!” And you thought Apple TV was the “high-brow” streamer. Wingman trailer

Spider-Noir (Prime Video) New series: While Spider-Noir will drop episodes weekly on MGM+ (an Amazon property), the new Marvel-adjacent series will be available in its eight-episode entirety via Prime Video on May 26. TV newbie Nicholas Cage stars as Ben Reilly, a private investigator in 1930s New York by day, and the city’s lone superhero, The Spider, by night. In keeping with the ’30s vibe, the stylishly filmed Spider-Noir can be streamed in “True Hue” color or “Authentic” black & white (both versions look Spider-spectacular, so you can’t lose). The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire (History) New docuseries: Remember that viral moment three years ago when men allegedly couldn’t stop thinking about the Roman Empire? History is finally on the case.

Brilliant Minds (NBC, Peacock) Season 2 final episodes: It’s canceled, but NBC plans to run out the remaining episodes of Zachary Quinto’s Brilliant Minds medical drama on Wednesdays. Unless the ratings are even worse than they were before, then it’s off to Saturdays (sorry, Zach).

Criminal Minds: Evolution (Paramount+) Season 19 premiere: As Criminal Minds: Evolution, the streaming reboot, this is only the fourth season; in the overall Criminal Minds canon, we’re now starting the 19th (come for the serial killers, stay for the math). The main cast is back for CM:E’s new season, but don’t believe the internet slop about Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) returning to full-time duty: He’s still working on CBS’s Einstein drama, which will probably be canceled in time for him to rejoin Criminal Minds for Season 20. Guest stars this season include Connor Storrie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Justin Kirk, Jeri Ryan, Clark Gregg, and Paul F. Tompkins (again) as a true-crime podcaster (of course). Deli Boys (Hulu) Season 2 premiere: In the debut Deli Boys season, the cushy lives of spoiled Pakistani-American brothers Mir and Raj (Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh) imploded when their convenience-store tycoon father suddenly died. Things went from bad to worse when it was revealed that Pops was also secretly the head of a criminal organization that they were ill-equipped to run themselves. They’re still in over their heads in Season 2, hence more crime-comedy gold. Kumail Nanjiani, Robin Thede, Andrew Rannells, and Lily Singh—comic killers all—guest this season. Deli Boys S2 trailer

Star City (Apple TV). New series: Apple TV’s long-running For All Mankind depicts an alternate history in which Russia won the 1960s space race by landing on the moon first (you know, if you believe in the “moon landing”). The new Star City tells the same story from the Russian point of view, starting with the pre-For All Mankind ramp-up of scrambling to shoot cosmonauts into near space. Star City’s cast includes Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Alice Englert, and Agnes O’Casey; two of eight episodes stream on May 29. Star City trailer

Propeller One-Way Night Coach (Apple TV) Movie premiere: John Travolta wrote a children’s book in 1997, and now Propeller One-Way Night Coach—directed and narrated by Travolta—is a movie with just a touch of a Wes Anderson aesthetic. Propeller One-Way Night Coach follows wide-eyed boy Jeff (Clark Shotwell) traveling on one of the first cross-country flights in the early days of commercial aviation.
