Richards went on to become one of the first male supermodels of the ’80s, while that socialite, Frederick von Mierers, revealed himself to be an “alien” from the planet Arcturus—oh yeah, there’s the hook. Cape Fear (Apple TV) New series: It was a 1957 novel (as The Executioners) and two movies (in 1962 and 1991), and now Cape Fear is a streaming show because of course it is. The 10-episode series stars Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson as a married couple of attorneys who are being stalked by the fresh-out-of-prison psycho (Javier Bardem) they failed to exonerate 17 years ago. Is Bardem scarier and more menacing than previous Cape Fear film villains Robert De Niro and Robert Mitchum? Oh, hell yes. Cape Fear trailer
Office Romance (Netflix) Movie premiere: An airline CEO (Jennifer Lopez) falls for one of her new employees (Brett Goldstein of Ted Lasso and Shrinking), potentially violating her own anti-fraternization office policies, like CEOs ever answer for anything. Betty Gilpin, Edward James Olmos, Tony Hale, Amy Sedaris, and Bradley Whitford also star in what could have been a modestly successful rom-com in 1996, but what’s with the blandacious movie title? Not much new to see this Saturday, so check out my latest syndicated column about the final season of The Bear coming up later this month and some other restaurant-related dramas and comedies to watch through the tears after you’ve binged it. True TV: The Bear + Foodie TV will also appear in Salt Lake City Weekly, Inlander, and Coachella Valley Independent this month, but not Washington City Paper: They’ve canceled me after a year and change because nobody streams shows in D.C. (I’m guessing).
