With lids. For weirdos like me that can’t deal with an open salt pig, because, dust and grease.

I’ve seen so many beautiful salt pigs on my internet travels, but I can never quite bring myself to buy one, because I know how greasy and dusty and the area around our hob gets, and that’s where I like to keep our salt. Maybe I just need to be better at more regular deep cleaning and get better extraction. Even then I’d probably worry about whether I’d accidentally sprayed surface cleaner into the salt. I can’t be on my own here. Or am I?

So while being better at regular deep cleaning AND better extraction are both on my list for the new kitchen, I can’t promise I’ll be a changed woman, even with the best intentions, and I think you’ll agree that I’m just better of with a lid on my salt. For everyone’s sake.

I just really want need my Maldon to have a lid, okay?!

But what have you been doing up until now I hear you ask? WELL. I did have a much loved lidded, perfectly sized ceramic pot which was purchased from Anthropologie many many moons ago, but it met an untimely death recently. I have now forgiven the perpetrator, and begun the search for a replacement.

Admittedly I’ve not tried that hard until now, but a little look here and there, has drawn a blank until today when I put a concerted effort in to finding THE ONE. Or THE ONES as the case may be.

What’s to follow is the best of the best that I found, that fit the following criteria…

Not too big and not too small - don’t forget to check the dimensions to make sure they work for you.

A lid with a handle - essential when cooking.

Pretty enough to pop on the table as well as to sit next to the hob.

Serax Sophia - Made In Design

I’m always a BIG fan of Serax designs and their collaborations, and the Sophia collection is no exception. LOVE this one.
