Hello humans!

This week I’m turning my visor towards a man who sees himself as religiously profound, but who I see as being supernaturally vacuous. It is of course His Holeyness, Russell Brand.

I should state at the outset that this man is awaiting trial for sexual offences, and that aspect of his newsworthiness is not funny in the slightest.

At the same time, I should also point out - in the interests of balance - that numerous commentators have pointed out that it’s a curious move for a man charged with being a sex offender to appear in court and on television to defend himself while being dressed up as a sex offender.

My interest in the matter is political, because Brand has recently announced he intends to stand for London Mayor in 2028. Which means he’s entering my arena. (I’m already stockpiling Dettol.)
