more than a belly · Belly.Lines’s Substack

A lot of people have belly fat, but this book is not for them. While everyone is very welcome to read this book and will learn something from it, it is very important for me to say this, because women who this book is meant for - they are mostly ignored and erased in the world and they deserve to have something of their own, so this book is written by an apple shaped woman for other apple shaped women.

To be clear, this term - apple shaped - I don’t like it but it is a most used term to describe our body type so I will use it. You all know what the term means right? We are women whose body sends any extra fat to the top: arms, back, but most of all to the midsection - the belly, the tummy, the stomach, the soft middle. In contrast our bottom half is in comparison very slender with narrow hips and legs. We are also muscular as we tend to build muscle very fast. So, all in all, not exactly the body you will portrayed in a book, movie, shows or magazines - unless it’s to be judged and ridiculed.

My dears, just because we all are spending our lives in this type of a body, I feel like I know you, like I am connected to you and so I love you! Exactly because of that love, whether you are ready or not for this, something is going to change. Something is already changing out there in the world, and this change is reaching you too. You might already be on this journey of change, whether you know it or not, or this might be a first interaction with the change, but regardless where you are, come on over and dive in head first. Don’t be scared. Just take whatever speaks to you, because that’s the thing about books, we can always come back for them. Take what your mind is ready to accept, depending on where you are right now, and run with it, apply it. Maybe just think about it. Maybe don’t do anything. Leave it alone for six months and then come back for it. But please, please, my dear friend, do not judge yourself because you didn’t already know. You could not have bloomed before, because it was not spring for you yet.

There is nobody in the world like us! And the time has come that we hold hands and encircle the world so it can’t erase us and make us invisible.
