School’s out for summer, y’all! My yearly existential crisis about who I am, what my purpose is and how am going to I survive the next three months with almost no alone time is finally here!

Being a stay-at-home mom has been a push and pull for me since we moved (almost three years ago 😳). I love being home and available for our kid more than anything. It’s seriously the best! We get up to all kinds of shenanigans. But, I have this inner voice that’s always like “You should start another business…you should be making money…you should be ⊹ ࣪ ˖ PrOdUcTIvE ⊹ ࣪ ˖”.

And that’s not super helpful when I’m just trying to live a slow life. It’s like constantly working against all my programming to just sit and read a book. So silly.

Anyway. I just wanted to ramble about it in case anyone else ever feels that way. My plan is to make a flexible schedule and attempt to nurture the part of me that’s taking it slow while quieting the part needs constant outside validation lol. The joys of being an enneagram 3!

1. Traitors - We just got into the first season of the UK version are all obsessed!

2. Pokopia - Yes, I’m still fully invested.

3. Bunnies in the yard - Self explanatory.

Do I need to take this section out completely? No! The archive is still amazing and I do want to try to do more this summer, maybe?

Have I done any creative endeavors since finishing The 100 Day Project? No. No I haven’t. We’ve been finishing up the school year and getting ready for summer and you know how bonkers that time can be.

BUT!

I’m starting The Artist’s Way again! I’ve talked about my first experience with it here, and I’m ready to finally finish it lol. When I originally started it, the morning pages really stuck with me (I talk about my journaling here), but I never actually went through the whole book. Summer feels like as good a time as any!

Wish me luck! And if anyone else wants to join me, I’m reading The Basic Tools chapter now and am going to start week one next week. I’d love to compare notes if anyone is into it!

• Maison Ikkoku #3 & Maison Ikkoku #4 by Rumiko Takahashi (paperback collector editions) - This series is just so funny and silly and a good time. I’m excited to get back into it!

• Shadow & Storms by Helen Scheuerer (audiobook via Libby) - After quasi-spoiling this book by accidentally reading Iron & Embers (which takes place after and spills a lot of exposition in the first five minutes omg), my library finally had the audiobook for this one available. These books are kind of popcorn romantasy for me. The main characters are also very busy, if you catch my drift. I’m curious about the ending, though!

• Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry (hardback) - I just started this because I’ve heard amazing things and one of my friends started it recently. I’m excited to get into it.

There was a lot of thrifting this week! An impromptu visit to Bookoff was fun, as always. I love seeing what Japanese games they have, plus that’s where I found the 4th Maison Ikkoku. I also swung by a Goodwill and regret not picking up this gorgeous set of dishes. They’re so precious!
