This is my first newsletter from my newly pink office and I’m buzzing! The window is open, the wind is rustling the trees like a Ghibli movie and I can hear so many birds calling in the distance. I literally couldn’t ask for anything more.
See?! It’s glorious! Also, don’t worry about how many tabs are open, ok? That’s between me and my deity and she doesn’t mind.
We are currently marching into a slow summer and I can’t wait to enjoy it (and then move as quickly into Autumn as possible).
Being surrounded by cute trinkets.
Thrifting and estate sale-ing and just generally rummaging through old stuff.
Getting ideas for new quilts to make.
I know I said that this week we’d be back to normal, but this week has proved to be much busier than I expected, so maybe next week is the winner?
Pixel & Ink Creative - I love this collab pin that Daneisha did with Brooktrovert! It’s a perfect pairing and I relate to this sentiment on a cellular level.
Catmint Studios - How perfect (purrfect?) are these Pawtisserie pins?!
Sofie Tekent - Gorgeous woodcuts. Some are available in stickers, too, but I feel like this design needs to be big in order to appreciate all the detail.
Slice of the Wild - This artist’s style is so unique! This print is so pretty and so weird.
The Natural Illustrator - They take custom orders here, but I had to show you this mug lol. Bread better watch out.
Lauren Gunning Jewellery - This necklace is handmade with recycled silver. Also, it’s beautiful.
I finished the 100 Day Project!!! I’m swimming in necklaces and just so proud of myself for seeing it through. I’ll do a whole post about it soon because it brought up a lot more stuff than expected. But for now, I’m taking a crafty break and reveling in the fact that I finished.
Also, don’t forget about Snart if you’re looking for some crafty ideas!
A Prayer for the Crown Shy by Becky Chambers (hardcover) - I just love this book so much that I never want it to end.
Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey (audiobook via Libby) - I know I’m very late to the game with this one, but I’ve been on a sci-fi kick lately and Andy said I should give it a try. I’m a little over halfway and have been listening at 1.5 speed, so things are moving fast! It’s definitely more gory and stressful than a Becky Chambers sci-fi, lol. I was giving it a little side eye because the two male main characters were acting questionably, but I appreciate Naomi (the only main-ish female character) for calling out that behavior.
The only book I purchased this week was by Divinity Rae. They’ve got two novellas on Kindle, but I don’t have a Kindle, which was a bummer! BUT! They posted on Threads about bringing signed physical copies to give out and I sprinted to Amazon. I try to avoid Amazon in general, but if it’s going to support an indie artist, I’m hopping over there post haste! Can’t wait to get into this!
*Book links are affiliates where I get a small portion of the sale and it helps to support The Fox and the Feather, my favorite woman-owned, indie bookshop near me!
This was definitely the biggest part of the week. Minus getting a crown at the dentist lol. Between finishing that project and getting a mug warmer, it’s been a very successful week. I hope you’re enjoying the weather and having a fantastic weekend, cutie!
K, love you, byeeee!
♡ Becky
