Weekly Wrap-up #22

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great day yesterday. It started very early in the adoration chapel for me and then we swam basically all day with the kids before heading to a party with a few families from our church. It was HOT and there was, like, 25 kids, a slip n’ slide, a small inflatable pool and a plethora of amazing food. The older kids played “World Cup soccer”, gaga ball and chess, and Lucy didn’t come out of the inflatable pool for literal hours. We had a few small fountain fireworks, pop-its and, of course, sparklers in the street. I made a feta and watermelon salad with mint from the garden and a very easy and old school potato salad (that was the hit of the party and I’ll share the recipe at the end of this post!). My kids were totally toast by the end of the evening but it was absolutely completely worth it. We were all a bit bleary eyed at mass this morning though for sure!
