We’re Alaina, Carly, and Julie (aka. the Balanced Beyars). Three sisters and certified menstrual & fertility health educators raising families in coastal Rhode Island, sharing everything we learn as we move through the many phases of womanhood. We are intuitive, honest, jokey, creative, holistic & we genuinely believe that when women heal, they heal the world.
After a few years of second guessing whether we should do this or not…we are finally committing. We’re going ALL IN on this platform. Let us rant about it, ok?
Welcome to The Beyar Sisters.
All three of us have been yearning for more interpersonal connection with our community and we’re not getting that on Instagram anymore. Shocker.
There are SO many reasons why. Some of which you know and some of which you don’t.
First of all, we miss you so fahkin’ much. Your questions get lost in DMs or important comments get buried. One thing that kills us is that we open messages quickly to read, and then close them with the hope that we will get more time later to craft a thoughtful response… but the messages get lost in the sauce. We don’t want to rush our connections with you anymore. For a platform that’s intended to be social, we’ve never felt more disconnected.
We are all losing our human voices. On Instagram, we keep seeing the same hooks, templates, trends, and tactics just to BE SEEN and to SELL. It’s the same sh*t over and over.
Everything is curated, automated, and increasingly AI-generated. It feels soulless and inauthentic. It feels like the opposite of real life. Even when a creator has something incredibly important to say or sell, we can sniff an AI script out from a mile away. The authenticity and trust disappears immediately for us.
(And don’t get us wrong — please know, we’re not judging! We’ve been creating social content since 2017 and we truly know how time consuming it is. AI automation for this stuff is ENTICING AF and we sure as sh*t experiment with it, too.)
We’ve spent more hours than we’re willing to admit agonizing over the perfect hooks, optimizing every sentence, and packaging our thoughts into what the algorithm favors. But it only took a little while before we looked at each other and said, “This just doesn’t feel like us.”
It started to feel like we were playing a game optimized for reach, views, and engagement instead of having real connection and conversations. Yes, we’re trying to build a profitable business and provide for our families, but that’s never been the whole point.
All the content on Instagram now feels like it’s competing for SHOCK VALUE because this is what the algorithm wants. Hot take after hot take. If you take a hard stance, you’re often rewarded with viral reach thanks to all the bickering that fills your comment section. Of course, it’s not always true, but a lot of the time it feels like in order to find “your tribe,” you need to draw a hard line in the sand and maybe even become ruthless, triggering, inflammatory, or polarizing. Energetically, the way it comes off just feels so low vibrational to us, even if that’s never the creator’s intention!!!
It’s like, as a society, we’re becoming addicted to labels and combativeness. Content that isn’t souped up with shocking opinions, words, or imagery often gets scrolled past in a second, even when it’s genuinely valuable. Sometimes it feels like people are just waiting to misunderstand each other so they can throw fisticuffs.
It’s such a bizarre time to be alive, lol.
Anyone else feel this way?
To us, when we open Instagram, we feel like we’re drowning with cortisol, bad news, and toxic troll comments. Almost like we’ve been thrown into a party scene from The Wolf of Wall Street. Everything is loud, chaotic, overstimulating… and somehow you just can’t look away!
We want to create a different kind of social connection — specifically the kind that calms your nervous system, instead of throwing it into a dumpster fire. That’s what Substack feels like to us. Like sipping a cup of herbal tea and a chowin’ down on warm croissant at a cozy café with a friend, having the kind of conversation that leaves your cup fuller than when you arrived.
Our brand Balanced Beyars was built on the idea that two things can be true at once. Unfortunately, being “balanced” isn’t great for engagement... but it is GREAT for helping people. We’d MUCH rather leave you feeling informed than inflamed, ya know?
For a long time, we’ve been dying to share our inner worlds, personal lives, everyday routines, and the lessons and tips we’re learning as we move through life. The RAW, real, vulnerable shit. But that pressure of showing up a certain way on IG has energetically and physically BLOCKED us from doing so.
Alas…. we feel like boiling tea kettles with the spouts completely clogged. Can’t you tell!?!
There’s all this steam, all these stories, tips, questions, and conversations building inside us, but no outlet for them to escape. It’s one of the most frustrating feelings in the world as creatives because instead of feeling inspired to create, we feel totally paralyzed. And instead of wanting to show up on that platform, we feel like we are hiding. We JUST KNOW there has to be another way!!!!!
We want our community to genuinely know our names, stories, and hearts. Think about it…. how many current creators do you follow on Instagram where you’ve saved dozens of their posts, commented the keyword to get the freebie, or bookmarked their content... but if someone asked you their name, you’d have NO recollection? You might remember the recipe or resource you asked for, but you don’t remember their face. Sigh. That happens to us when we browse, too.
We want to know YOU, and we want you to know US. Like a big fam. The kind of close-knit sisterhood we experienced during our early group coaching days (shout out to our O.G. POP Stars!!!!). We’re craving that so badly.
Instagram isn’t going anywhere. It’s still a huge part of our biz, and we’re grateful it’s allowed us to grow our business. We’ll absolutely keep showing up there.
But for this next chapter, it won’t be where we’re pouring most of our creative energy or sharing our best, most educational content. That’s happening here. This is where we'll share what we're authentically thinking, learning, and living raw and unfiltered. Because it’s our safe space where we can be our truest selves!
And we’re genuinely jazzed about what we could potentially build on Substack!!!
Whether you’re trying to regulate your cycle, preparing for conception, navigating pregnancy, moving through postpartum, surviving motherhood, or simply becoming a healthier, happier version of yourself... we want you UPPPP IN HEA with us.
Between the three of us, we’ve been through a lot as women. And we have zero regrets about our struggles because whatever we’re going through always lights a flame in us to help other women who are dealing with the exact same things. Through every phase, we’ve tried to stay open to learning, seeing/hearing multiple POVs, and course-correcting when we’re wrong. Yes, we’re certified in holistic hormone, menstrual, and fertility health, but we never want to forget that we’re also fahkin’ human. We have blind spots and we make mistakes. We certainly don’t alwayssss practice what we preach. Sometimes, we truly need the reminders just as much as anyone else.
That’s probably why this feels so important to us. None of us are meant to navigate womanhood alone. It’s not lost on us how incredibly lucky we are to have each other as sisters. It’s been such a gift. We want to make our inner circle even WIDER.
We want every word that comes out on paper here to be delivered to you like your older sister would — direct, but full of compassionate guidance.
We’re already envisioning the women who join us becoming our Sisters.
With access to our exclusive growing library of content that becomes your womanhood playbook.
Honest reflections on hormones, cycle health, fertility, motherhood, relationships, holistic health, daily habits, and everything we’re learning along the way, with science woven in there when it’s helpful.

As long as you remain a Sister, your pricing will never increase!
No pressure at all. Seriously. If you’re not sure yet, you can always choose the monthly option and cancel anytime (or until you resonate with one of our pieces and you want to unlock it). Our hope is that you’ll stick around because you’re genuinely excited to be here as we are.
We’re over here dreaming that one day there will be thousands of women who proudly call themselves our Sisters on here. We’d be incredibly honored if you helped us build this one from the very beginning.
Every phase, together.
Love,
Alaina, Carly & Julie'
P.S. What are you most excited for us to write about? We have A LOT of ideas... they are flowing out of us like the Nile Riverrrrr.
P.P.S. Please introduce yourself below. Where are you from!? What phase of life are you in? We’d love to get to know you right off the bat, baby!
