Let’s talk about something a little different!
Tomorrow is August 8th, the Lion’s Gate portal, one of the most powerful manifestation days of the year.
Now, I am definitely not a hopes-and-prayers manifestation person. But I do believe in the power of defining your life and what you want, and I think moments like this one are a great opportunity to reset, reflect on the last 12 months, and plan what the next 12 will look like.
Every year in early August, Sirius, the brightest star in our sky, rises above the eastern horizon just before sunrise. The ancient Egyptians tracked that rising. It lined up with the flooding of the Nile and marked the start of their new year, which is where the whole “gateway” idea comes from.
Astrologically, it’s the window when the Earth, Sirius, and Orion’s Belt align during Leo season (hence the lion). The portal is considered open from late July through August 12, and it peaks on August 8th.
In numerology, 8 is the number of abundance. Stand it up next to itself on 8/8 and you get the most charged manifestation date on the calendar.
And this year is a special one: 8 + 8 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 reduces to another 8. So 8/8/2026 is a triple-eight portal. If you’ve ever been curious about trying this, this is the year to try it.
For the last few years, I’ve done a verbal journal for the Lion’s Gate portal. The exact shape depends on the vibe and headspace I’m in that year, but it usually looks something like this.
First, I get myself into a focused space. Sometimes I take a walk first. Sometimes I put on centering music and just take a couple of minutes to breathe. (Not even a full guided meditation, just a moment to settle.) Then I close anything that could distract me: phone on Do Not Disturb, texts closed, email closed, everything.
Then I start with reflection:
What worked in the last 12 months? What didn’t?
What was good personally? Professionally?
What did I learn about myself?
Sometimes I’ll literally go month by month through my calendar and ask: What happened? What did I do? I find it genuinely empowering, because the answer is usually “Oh shit, I did so much.” It’s so easy to be constantly going, going, going and not taking a beat to acknowledge what’s working.
(This is also why I love doing this in August. A late-summer reset has always felt way more useful to me than January.)
Then I move into the scripting part. This is the exact guided exercise I use, and you’re welcome to steal it.
One rule before you start: when you record, speak in the present or past tense, as if it has already happened. Be specific, be detailed, and let it be emotionally charged.
1. Personal energy & wellbeing
How do you feel waking up most mornings now?
What’s your daily rhythm, and how does it feel in your body?
Describe your physical health, strength, and vitality. How are your hormones, sleep, and recovery supporting you?
What rituals or self-care practices have become non-negotiable for you?
2. Emotional & spiritual alignment
How connected do you feel to your intuition and inner knowing?
What spiritual or energetic practices have deepened this past year?
What limiting beliefs have you completely released?
How has your confidence or sense of self evolved?
3. Home & environment
Describe where you’re living now: the location, the atmosphere, the feeling.
What details in your home make you feel abundant, safe, and inspired?
Who and what fills your space with joy and ease?
4. Love & relationships
Who is in your life now, and what kind of energy do they bring?
How has your romantic relationship evolved, or how has your ideal partner shown up?
How do you feel in love: safe, passionate, playful, supported?
What does your social circle look like now?
5. Business & career
What is the state of your main business/job?
How much are you earning monthly and yearly, and how does it feel?
What does your time look like now?
What offers or projects have been your biggest wins this past year?
Which dream collaborations or partnerships came through?
How has your public brand and reputation expanded?
6. Creative expression & visibility
Where have you been featured, interviewed, or recognized this past year?
What personal or creative projects have you completed?
How have you evolved as a thought leader and storyteller?
7. Money & wealth
Describe your income streams and how easily they flow now.
What investments or financial milestones have you hit?
How has your relationship with money shifted?
8. Adventures & experiences
Where have you traveled in the last 12 months?
What standout adventures or once-in-a-lifetime experiences have you had?
Who have you shared them with?
9. Contribution & impact
How have you been able to give back or make an impact?
What causes or communities have benefited from your energy or resources?
What legacy are you actively building?
10. Closing energy
End your voice note with a gratitude wave.
Name the 3 to 5 things you’re most grateful for about this year’s transformation.
Anchor the feeling in your body: describe the joy, peace, or excitement coursing through you.
And claim that this reality is permanent, natural, and only getting better.
You can choose to write all of this out, but I prefer to say it out loud into Wispr Flow or Granola so by the end I have a big messy transcript of the whole session.
Then I feed it into AI and have it reflect me back to myself:
“Here’s my Lion’s Gate reflection and everything I want for the next year. Reflect it back to me. What themes do you see? What am I circling around without saying directly? Use my words, not inspirational language.”
And then my favorite part. I have it write me two letters:
“Now write me two letters. The first is from me a year ago, congratulating me on everything I actually accomplished in the last 12 months, based on my reflection. The second is from me a year from now, written in past tense, describing everything I did and how I feel now that it’s done. Pull from my own words. Don’t add anything I didn’t say.”
(That last instruction matters, by the way. Left alone, AI will pad your intentions with generic abundance language, and that is the manifestation version of slop!)
I save both letters in my notes so I can come back to them over and over throughout the year.
And before writing this, I dug up the one I wrote at last year’s Lion’s Gate, the letter dated from future me. It is SO different from what actually happened. And honestly, not in a bad way. The interesting part was seeing what I was focused on a year ago, how that has evolved, and which intentions I want to revisit now that I have another year under my belt.
That’s what the letter is for, it’s a record of your focus.
If you want to take this one step further, you can map your year against your actual chart, for free.
Astro-Seek will generate your full birth chart and its personal transit calendar gives you the year of transits to your own placements. Astro.com is another free option.
One important thing: don’t ask AI to calculate your chart or your transits from scratch. Get the real data from the free tool, then hand it over for the interpretation, which is the part AI is actually good at:
“Here’s my birth chart and my transit calendar for the next 12 months [paste from Astro-Seek]. Map them against the goals I just scripted. Where are my strongest windows in the year for big moves, for visibility, for rest? Give me actual dates.”
Now your intentions have a calendar.
The portal stays open through August 12th, so if you’re reading this over the weekend, you haven’t missed it.
Cheers,
Audrey
P.S. If you do your own 8/8 reset tomorrow, reply and tell me one thing you’re calling in.
