Earlier this month, AthenaDAO sponsored and co-designed the Women’s Longevity Track at the Agentic AI Against Aging Hackathon in San Francisco, hosted by HackAging.AI.
A prize and challenge proposed by menopause prediction startup LifeAhead - produced one standout project, Menopause Later, which developed a fully autonomous AI literature analysis system that modelled the economic and health impact of delaying menopause by five years.
The system autonomously queried PubMed, analyzed 1,655 meta-analyses, and extracted 584 risk metrics using a LangGraph state machine in Python.
It mapped risk changes across diseases such as CVD, dementia, diabetes, and cancers, and estimated how delaying menopause could affect national healthcare costs and productivity.
They created a scalable framework that connects reproductive longevity research to real-world economic value.
About the team:
Mark Kagach is an alignment and longevity researcher passionate about building trustworthy, decade-long collaborations to advance human progress. He has co-authored handbooks simplifying the works of physicist David Deutsch both personally endorsed by Deutsch and is completing a study on longevity funding with Alexey Strygin, surveying over 135 scientists in the field.
Elias Schlie is an AI student and software engineer. His current projects range from building software for BCIs, to developing tools to support scientific research, to using AI agents for automations. Alongside his studies, he works as a software engineer for a biotech startup called Griffin Labs, developing AI agents for creating self-updating causal graphs reflecting peer-reviewed human research.
