The Full Moon in Libra arrives on Wednesday evening, and is a great deal more complex and demanding than one would expect from a peace loving and balance seeking archetype of Libra. Yes, this is Venus ruled lunation, and Venus is favorably placed in her domicile of Taurus, but together with opposition to Saturn in Aries and square to Jupiter in Cancer this lunation speaks of squishing some long standing compromise narratives that are not truly based on your value system. Choices that are hard to make and have been avoided for long, now have to be made to signal the direction you want your life to take. In the following two weeks post this lunation, the Aries part of your chart is getting a remarkable amount of attention, and the Libra part of your chart will be forced to use its Venusian skills to rise to the occasion, to meet the conflict, not dodge it.
This is a very strategic lunation, it is not all soft and pleasure seeking, in spite of what might seem on the surface. The square from Jupiter speaks about the price that we pay for freedom, often the price is care and protection, but the underlying motive is not love, it is control. Masks off is the theme of this Full Moon. The line is drawn between care that supports your individuation and growth, and care that is a control mechanism that stems from fear. Libra is a peace and justice seeking energy, but with this lunation it is your ability to choose the correct and most fair tools for the battle that matters. We are past diplomacy at any cost and bitter compromises, we are both individually and collectively on the path of taking what is rightfully ours, and doing it in accordance to our higher values and principles. What is ours spans from the right for nourishment and truth, to the right for individual choice and freedom as we define it. You gotta choose the rules of the conflict, the conflict here is a gateway to freedom. Conflict might be internal, it might be social, family related, work related or relational, as usual all depends on the individual natal chart. The question is - How to engage in the fight for what you understand is right so your internal sense of balance and justice is intact? There is a line between compromise and betrayal of the self, and no one but you knows where this line is.
the books for april and may are limited, and i’ll be opening them shortly. stay tuned.
Moon in Libra still wants to attain an illusory state of peace, but the planets in Aries are not yielding, they demand that the choices are made and commitment to your true path is placed above everything else. Trying to sit on two chairs, serve two masters, prioritize the bare minimum is a recipe for a wasted opportunity to pass a threshold. The moon is people, and people want peace, and I understand it, I want peace too. But what is required beyond our wants and comforts right now is cultivation of principled grit. Grit and strength are our allies towards selfhood and actual justice. Time to see Libra for what it is, not a diluted aesthetic version, she is a counterpart of a bringer of war, she too knows how to fight. The fight is for your talents and for the world that holds space for these talents. Can justice and safety exist in the same story right now, that is the question, and this question can be applied to your personal situation and to the collective unfolding.
