Look where you want to go in 2025

What a year 2024 has been! For so many of us, myself included, it has been a year of profound change, upheaval, and transformation. As Brené Brown aptly said, “We want transformation, but we don’t like change.” How true that is. Transformation often requires us to navigate the discomfort and uncertainty of change—a process that challenges us deeply. Yet, within this alchemy lies the opportunity to surrender to life’s lessons, lovingly witness what calls to be seen and embraced, and free ourselves to step forward with greater compassion and clarity. Though it’s rarely easy, I hope your own journey of transformation has been met with love, support, and moments of grace.

One teaching I’ve held close to my heart this year is a piece of wisdom my surf teacher shared with me: “Look where you want to go. Don’t focus on where you don’t want to go. Instead of fixating on the coral reef you want to avoid, focus on the wave you want to ride.” This is such a profound reminder. Fix your gaze on what inspires and calls to you—that’s where you’ll naturally move. While we can’t ignore challenges or potential risks, we don’t have to pour our energy into them.

My teacher Adyashanti also offers this insight: “Whatever you give your time and attention to tells you what you really value in life.” I hope this coming year brings you the support, clarity, and inner wisdom to realign, again and again, with what is most true and meaningful in your life. May you continue to look toward what lights you up and lean in that direction with trust and intention.

I hope the offerings below—of art, beauty, meditation, and wisdom—bring joy and benefit to your life. It has been a joy for me to share guided meditations on Insight Timer this year and to receive warm feedback from thousands of people around the world. Connecting with you and witnessing your devotion to your path and good heart has truly touched my heart.

As we step into 2025, may this new year inspire us to show up with clarity and kindness, to keep our hearts open to the world, and to remain rooted in our integrity and well-being.

Wishing you a year filled with beauty, purpose, and peace.

This winter, I’m excited to offer another round of my popular course, “Intuition Practice Group for a Clinical Setting.”

This 6-week class provides a wonderful space for healers, therapists, empaths, and helpers to develop their intuition in a grounded and supported way. It’s designed to enhance the work you do with others, while helping you care for your nervous system and increase your intuitive abilities.

This time, I’m offering the course online to make it accessible to those who can’t join in person in Boulder. If you’re interested, let me know, and I’ll include you in a poll to help determine the class schedule.

A Poem I Am Loving Lately

CONTINUE by Maya Angelou

Into a world which needed you
My wish for you
Is that you continue

Continue

To be who and how you are
To astonish a mean world
With your acts of kindness

Continue

To allow humor to lighten the burden
of your tender heart

Continue

In a society dark with cruelty
To let the people hear the grandeur
Of God in the peals of your laughter

Continue

To let your eloquence
Elevate the people to heights
They had only imagined

Continue

To remind the people that
Each is as good as the other
And that no one is beneath
Nor above you

Continue

To remember your own young years
And look with favor upon the lost
And the least and the lonely

Continue

To put the mantel of your protection
Around the bodies of
The young and defenseless

Continue

To take the hand of the despised
And diseased and walk proudly with them
In the high street
Some might see you and
Be encouraged to do likewise

Continue

To plant a public kiss of concern
On the cheek of the sick
And the aged and infirm
And count that as a
Natural action to be expected

Continue

To let gratitude be the pillow
Upon which you kneel to
Say your nightly prayer
And let faith be the bridge
You build to overcome evil
And welcome good

Continue

To ignore no vision
Which comes to enlarge your range
And increase your spirit

Continue

To dare to love deeply
And risk everything
For the good thing

Continue

To float
Happily in the sea of infinite substance
Which set aside riches for you
Before you had a name

Continue

And by doing so
You and your work
Will be able to continue
Eternally

Music I am Loving Lately

I love music so much; it helps me feel, heal, move and uplift when I need it. I hope you enjoy these songs

This song is beautiful, eerie and soothing, and great to listen to as you release, honor and forgive what you experienced in 2024.

This song is wonderful to listen on a new morning in this new year, as you open up and look where you want to go.

A new guided meditation

I just added a new guided meditation on Insight Timer, called “Put Your Attention on Where You Want to Go. It is a powerful practice to do as you open up to the possibilities of this new year.
