A catch up on noteworthy things this month: fueling rituals, cravings, and a few things I've worn on repeat

From my Summer Lately, In Pictures post

Currently listening to Gracie Abraham’s new album and absolutely love it. Minibar, Men like You, Imaginary Friend, and Look At My Life are the current favorites. It’s like when Tay drops an album and you can’t stop hearing the songs in your head most waking hours (but also when you wake up in the middle of the night), it’s that addicting. So be warned but it’s worth it!

Currently reading (well, just finished) The Audacity Experiment. Chris is the best — such a light, so hilarious, I love him. I pre-ordered his book long ago and so when it arrived this month, I was thrilled to dive in. I realized midway it’s on audible, so I downloaded and finished it while on a longer drive. It’s even better listening… his side commentary and giggles, it feels like you’re on a call with a hysterical and wise friend. All humans could benefit from the concepts, lessons, and tools in this book. Especially in the fast-paced, distracting, often-overwhelming times/world we live in right now. It’s a treasure, trust me.

Currently trying a new probiotic this summer and it’s by far the best I have ever used. Backstory — it was in my wellness-y drawer and I’d run out of my other one I was taking. I totally forgot where I saw it or read about it — but if it’s in this particular drawer, it came from a good source. Anyway, I have taken a handful of well-known probiotics and some under the radar ones — but this one is unrivaled. Will be sticking with it!

Currently sipping on tea! This has been a favorite of mine for a few years, but became a big ritual while I was pregnant with Hazel. Even Matt, who is not a tea guy, loves it. I add a good amount of honey and it’s just so cozy and delicious in the evenings after we put the girls to bed. Matt and I took a couple nights away solo and I also fell in love with this chamomile tea at the hotel. I add lemon and (yes I am heavy handed with) honey. Divine!

One other sip/obsession is my collagen matcha. YOU GUYS! This matcha recipe I’ve concocted is honestly better than what you get from a bougie café (in my *humble opinion). I’ve shared my love of this brand before but it’s been on heavy rotation since I have been trying to wean off coffee and finally kicked it this week. Having to do 2 matchas, but not complaining because it’s fantastic. Here’s how I make it:

I grab my almond milk and vanilla bean paste from Whole Foods (or Diablo Foods if you’re local) and here are links to my matcha, kettle, frother, glass mug!

Side note, I have also been taking a break from gel and using Nail Envy which has also helped with my nails I think!

Love an Elce set

Current favorite ritual — quieting the world around me and checking in with myself. One thing I have been doing is when I take breaks throughout my day, instead of allowing myself to autopilot (clean, laundry, grab my phone) I pause for a moment and think about what would feel good / be good for me / move the needle etc.

I’ve been craving a lot of movement lately and taking walks. The other night after Hazel went to bed and Matt was practicing reading with G, I took a quick neighborhood loop with my tea and it was a delight! Chris talks about this a bit in his book — moving that energy. We take in so much information each day, gotta keep up with movement to shake that stored energy out (seriously / please read or listen!). July was such a reset for me in all the ways.

Musings and musts

It’s the little things… a new hand soap that smells so good and the branding is epic. Would make for a very lovely gift.

I ordered new family stationery and it’s so pretty!

Can’t praise these white ballerinas enough, they are so comfortable and beautiful. The opening is slightly squared, they are so chic.

I ordered these terry bloomers (it’s a bloomer summer!) after seeing my friend wearing them. Obsessed with Suzi Kondi terry pieces. I have the sweatshirt from a couple years back.

This outfit made me happy. A fun bag, floral 70’s vibe shorts (love me a retro moment), a great knit, and mesh ballerinas. I don’t think I will ever exit the honeymoon phase with this bag…

Okay, that’s all I got for today.

Talk soon!
