It is not historically accurate to say that the West—or America—was built upon “Judeo-Christian values.” The West was historically understood as Christendom, and America’s founding rested on a distinctly Reformed Protestant worldview that emphasized Sola Scriptura, liberty of conscience, and constitutional self-government. The modern phrase “Judeo-Christian” became widespread only after World War II and should not be used to describe either the West or America historically.

The widespread adoption of the phrase “Judeo-Christian” belongs to this same postwar period in which the West’s historic Christian identity was being systematically redefined. It is therefore a modern political construct rather than a historically accurate description of Western civilization.

Furthermore, the Founders did not establish a nation rooted in Roman Catholicism or papal authority. They inherited the theological and political legacy of the Protestant Reformation, which rejected Rome’s claims to supremacy and affirmed that Jesus Christ alone is Lord of the conscience.

We all have to do better to recover the true history of the West as Christendom; otherwise, we end up using the enemies’ terms and fail to understand what it is we are actually defending.

If we forget that our liberties were rooted in the Protestant Reformation and its recovery of biblical truth, we will fail to recognize the very foundations that made constitutional liberty, liberty of conscience, and self-government possible. History matters because liberty has a source. There is no liberty without the Lawgiver, and our liberty did not emerge from a vague or generic version of Christianity, but from the distinctly Reformed Protestant recovery of biblical truth.

Christians, Americans, and patriots have a responsibility as citizens, not subjects—to learn and teach history accurately. We must be found faithful as stewards of God's good gifts, including the providential blessings of our nation's founding. History is a trust we have been given to steward faithfully, and God's system of justice and moral reality is something we must preserve, defend, and pass on to those who come after us.

Our Founding Fathers understood who the greatest enemies of our great nation were (Fabianism/the British imperialists and the Vatican), and those same two greatest enemies are fighting us today through their proxies and the people they have brainwashed.

History is not merely something we study.
It is something we steward.
