I can recognize myself in those words spoken by Rose Colcord1, founder of Cou Cou Intimates (Cou Cou Talks):

“Every day is worth wearing your favourites.”

She’s also a mother and a philosopher, like me. And she understood something powerful: building a brand can shift cultural narratives. It’s an opportunity to apply a philosophy. Creating products that make our daily lives better without compromising comfort or confidence.

May this be a reminder. Life isn’t happening later. All you have is now. Every hour of today is your life.

Daily life is the special occasion.

Among the gazillion decisions we make each day, we get to choose what matters to us, who we want to buy from, and what we want to wear as an extension of our self-expression and sense of identity.

That’s the key: every day is worth giving yourself the best, as an act of self-respect, but also so that your loved ones get the best version of you.

So, back to my favourite things. I realized that these are indeed things that make me feel like the best version of myself. I’m happy to get up, get dressed, and get things done.

Shall we?

DRESSES

This is my heatwave dress. Linen, pockets, doesn’t cling. Black because it’s effortless. I also shortened it myself (before/after). It’s lighter, visually and physically. Lesson: make your clothes fit you like a glove!

I’m not a dress person. But modern, soft silk, in a beautiful colour — that changed my mind. Shipped speedy FedEx from Toronto via Absolutely Fabrics, who also carry Flore Flore classics and unique vintage pieces (I love this belt). Pardon the creases, it travelled to get here:

TOPS + LAYERS

This white shirt earns its spot: the seersucker texture adds visual dimension, and it's effortless to care for — washes well, dries fast, no ironing. White is sold out, but plenty of other colours are available. I'm loving it two ways this summer: sharp white/black with a pop of colour, or a full white look.

My summer MVP — the colour alone makes me happy. I sized up to a S for oversized drama, no regrets. (I've been dreaming of it in navy, if you have thoughts, reply and tell me.)

Summer sweater weather is real — that stretch of evenings cool enough for a chunky cotton knit over shorts. This is my version of The Row Ophelia: cotton, navy, a modern fit with a great back detail. I'm in a S (true to size).

SHORTS

Crisp white, modern cut, real pockets. Everything I want to wear above 30°C. I’m still eyeing the trousers.

Denim shorts bring instant structure and polish — I’ve reached for these several times a week for two months straight. I sized up so I can wear them high-waisted with a belt, or loose and low. This colour palette might be the one I repeat the most:

SWIMWEAR

So flattering, so comfortable. The balconette top was such a pleasant surprise I ordered this bra for the same fit in daily cotton! Underwire is back. The bottom is the most flattering I’ve worn, trust me! I chose black because it’s classic — I’ll still be wearing this bikini in 3 years.

The most flattering one-piece I own. High-cut leg, medium bust and bum coverage — genuinely comfortable for 10 hours straight.

FINISHING TOUCHES

Clutches are having a moment, and this one earns the hype. It fits a phone, lip balm, keys, cardholder, and has a slim inner zip pocket. Chartreuse is beautiful, but chestnut brown is the timeless one — goes with everything. I also use it as a pouch inside a bigger bag.

I'm addicted to this one — not sticky, smells amazing, looks good on the shelf. One step after every shower, and I've already noticed better skin texture. Shea butter and niacinamide: nourishing and barrier-supporting.

It's the little things. A soft shimmer on my nails — one coat of this + one coat of that — makes me smile while I type this letter. Big silver bangles are having a moment on my wrist too.

That’s it for today’s favourites — pieces I reach for without thinking twice, because they let me feel like myself, every single day.

For me, it’s my metallic gold ballet flats. I wear them everywhere — to the organic store, the playground, on a long travel day. Hit reply or drop a comment, I’d love to know what’s yours:
