CT21 Plus Backpack

Posted . ~2min read.

Shocking as it may sound, I have a new backpack. In previous posts, I talked about the CT21 (which I took to ClueCon 2025) and the CT15+.

With the exception of taking the Aer Travel Pro 3 to Germany, I’ve mostly been using the CT15+.

It’s a great backpack and I absolutely love the waxed canvas. But, after months of use, I do agree that it’s just a little smaller than I’d like and I stand by what I said:

This said... if ctactical could make the ct-21 with just a bit more capacity or, let's say they did a version of it like their recent ct-14 plus, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I let Yeni know as soon as I got the announcement from CTactical of the CT21+ that sadly, I would need to (please) buy another bag. Being part of the mail list, I was ready at the exact date and launch time.

My first choice was going to be ecopak or similar, as I really do like that fabric. Second choice was going to be waxed canvas.

When the bags launched I jumped online and within minutes, the ecopak had sold out. I couldn’t believe I missed it. Luckily my second choice was available and I’m a proud owner of a Fieldbean waxed canvas CT21+.

I love this bag.

The fit is chef’s kiss. The comfort… unreal. For some reason, even though it’s larger, to me the fit and comfort surpass the CT15+. I continue to love waxed canvas as a material.

I’ve been carrying the bad daily and just recently completed a trip to Chicago. The CT21+ has become my favorite daily carry.

Would I use this bag for a family trip to Europe? Tough call. The Aer worked so well this past trip that it would be hard to consider something else.

Honestly, between the Aer, the Brain Bag, and this CT21+, there’s no wrong answer. Mood would probably play a big factor. The Aer and Brain Bag definitely have more capacity; which could also factor in as well. Comfort? The CT21+ and Aer are equal… significantly better than the Brain Bag at decent load.
