Introduction
Over the years I’ve amassed a respectable collection of recipes. I’ve got recipes clipped from newspapers, scribbled on index cards, in screenshots on my phone, and of course in shelves of cookbooks. I haven’t used most of them and probably never will. This site is a collection of recipes that I actually use, have tested, and in some cases modified from their original form. My goals are to
- Gather the recipes I actually use in one place,
- Get as much as possible into electronic format and scale back my book collection, and
- Make the recipes accessible online from a portable device like a smartphone or tablet.

Where are the ingredient lists?
The recipes on this site are optimized for efficient preparation and real-time use. Ingredients that are used together are grouped together in the recipes, making up front prep a lot easier. This approach also has the side effect of breaking the text into small easy-to-digest chunks—helpful when time is limited.
Conventions Used on This Site
- Ingredients appear in greenish type.
- Measures of time appear in magenta type.
- Units and measures are kind of all over the place, but I do try to list certain dry ingredients—especially flour—by weight rather than volume. Imperial units dominate, but I do sneak in the occasional Metric unit here and there just to keep you on your toes.
- Recipes with a happy tomato 🍅 are our favorites.
Products
I do make the occasional product reference, but I do not use paid referral links or get any kind of kickbacks. Besides, they’re not always positive references lol.
To Do
There’s a lot of work still to do, most notably adding a lot more recipes. I’m starting by pulling in the recipes that I already have in electronic format. Then I’ll start working on other recipes on my list.
