River grew up in New Eden, a secluded wolf-shifter community in Colorado’s Sawatch Mountains. Its strict rules and isolation shape her life until she finds Jonathan McKnight, a military veteran who has entered the community’s territory. She recruits him to save his life, bringing an outsider into a place that does not welcome one.
Jonathan’s arrival puts River’s loyalty to New Eden against her growing connection to him. Their story begins in River’s Recruit and continues through later books, while the series eventually shifts attention to other characters. The Sanctuary series page lists all six books in order.
