₊˚⊹ About the Site ⋆˙⟡
I like keeping memories of the things I consume, the things I love, and archiving my experiences and opinions. The purpose of this site has always been to be a digital archive. When I first created it, I used it to track my reading habits: notes, quotes, screenshots, live threads... that kind of stuff.
Now it's way more than that. As I'm writing this, I use the site as a replacement for social media and a place to create my content in a way that feels less uncomfortable.
This is my little corner in the middle of the chaos the internet has become. Here you'll find everything related to my hobbies, obsessions, personal experiences, everything I love or that relates to who I am. The goal is to preserve my memories while also meeting cool people who share similar interests with me.
I'm an adult making content for other adults. You won't find anything too explicit without a warning first, but still, I wouldn't recommend this place for minors or people who don't know how to act online. If there's something on this site you don't like just because it's not your taste, be a decent human being and close the tab. No need for drama.
And finally, I coded everything myself, so please don't just Ctrl C + Ctrl V my stuff. If you have questions, feel free to email me or leave a message on the guestbook!
The main color palette of Nanacore is #5A3600, #2B885C, #F58442, #7D79CD, and #F11389. And, since I'm based in Brazil, most dates on this site use the day/month/year format.
₊˚⊹ How I Ended Up Here ⋆˙⟡
I remember going online for the first time actually knowing what I was doing when I was like 9. Ever since then, I've loved being on the internet, so I made an account on almost every social media back when they were actually different from each other. I just wanted to be part of everything.
Mini me had the worst FOMO. What happened on Twitter stayed on Twitter, what happened on Tumblr stayed on Tumblr, and I didn't wanna miss anything. To me, the internet was always a place to express myself, find new stuff, and meet people. That's why I made a blog in 2010. I didn't just get better at writing, I also learned the basics of coding because of it. It was so fun and honestly made me super excited. Having my own little space online felt special.
Years went by, I deleted the blog, and all those accounts I made? Barely used half of them. Except for Twitter. Oh, Twitter… where do I even start.
My first fandom was Twilight, and I used to talk to so many other fans there. That habit stuck with me through every fandom I've ever joined. I'm sure it's the platform where I was the most active. I met so many people and found out about so many things through Twitter. The algorithm's kinda nice to me, I only see stuff I actually care about, so I never talk bad about it, even though I know how toxic it can get.
Meanwhile, on other platforms like Tumblr, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, whatever… I was never that active. I used them, but never like I used Twitter.
Fifteen years later and the internet's completely different from when I was 9. People got way too comfy being mean behind screens, news spreads faster than ever, every social media looks the same, and having a lot of followers apparently makes you “famous” (and sometimes even rich). Everything feels weird and kinda gross.
There were only a few places where I actually felt safe, and Listography was one of them. It's a simple site to make lists, where algorithms don't matter, and neither do followers. While scrolling there, I found out people still had personal blogs and kept this small community of webmasters. Obviously, I fell in love with it.
So in 2024 I made my second blog and met a bunch of really cool people who also had theirs. The only problem was that I didn't remember how to code anymore since I hadn't practiced in years, and all the blogs that used to post tutorials were gone. It was me and Google against the world… until I stumbled across the Neocities subreddit and found out about the Indie Web.
I started checking out different sites and got obsessed with how creative everyone was with layouts and content. I saw so many possibilities on Neocities that I never saw on my blog, and my eyes literally sparkled. I obviously had to be part of it.
₊˚⊹ Manifesto ⋆˙⟡
I made this site because I missed having my own space on the internet, something that wasn't just a profile on an algorithm-driven social network. I like archiving memories and organizing them in an interactive way that makes sense to me. It feels nice to have a place online to just breathe.
But I also made this site to practice coding, explore my creativity, interact with cool people, talk about my hobbies and the things I love, and express myself without worrying about judgment.
My site isn't about being anti–social media, but it's an attempt to be something beyond that: a reminder that it's still possible to find some peace in the middle of all this clout-chasing.
By having this site, I stand for self-expression, privacy, understanding over harassment, autonomy, and accessibility. I'm against engagement metrics, monetization of hobbies, and consumerism.
