It may not seem like it, but I’ve lost a bit of my knitting momentum. Well, the actual act of knitting, that is.
I don’t generally quantify my accomplishments, but I must acknowledge that my completed pile is sparse. Four knit projects only, which is a slow production year. At one point in my knitting career, I cranked out a sweater a month. However, I have diverted my attention more to designing and drafting patterns, which, unsurprisingly, is labor-intensive and sometimes tedious work. And yet I adore it.
Today’s WIP is such an example. An intricate interlocking of squared-off hearts, I’m tentatively naming it “Hearts Intertwined.” The pattern is a bit difficult to discern in its current state, but with a good blocking (i.e., hand-washing and laying flat to dry), the geometry will open up nicely, I think.
The red yarn was part of a sock club from Montana Crochet, and the silver yarn was purchased from Sew Happy Jane.
In other news, I have finished two previous WIPs. Vines on a Trellis has been finished for about a month and is wonderfully fabulous, in my opinion. I’m proofreading, tech editing, and cleaning up the layout of the pattern, and I do hope to have it published and available for purchase in the next couple of months. That part involves an update of my website, hence the ambiguous timeline.
The second WIP–turned FO will be properly featured this Friday, but remember the beginnings of this sweater? A definite slog of a project, but the results were worth it.
