When Canary Wharf’s ephemeral but state-of-the-art winter ice rink needed something to control and synchronise thousands of LED lights to music, their lighting designer was glad that he turned to ELM (ENTTEC LED Mapper).

I found ELM really simple and effective to use, and don’t think anything else would have worked as well. It ran seamlessly for three months.

Result

  • The rink from a near corner, a bright cyan grid running over a red and blue wash with skaters spread across it
  • Looking down the length of the canopy, a mirror ball high in the roof and a faint white grid on quiet ice
  • Teal and green lines gridding the ice, skaters over at the far barrier and Christmas lights strung beyond it
  • Mid rink under a violet and blue grid, blurred skaters mid stride and the lit office frontage behind them
  • From beside the barrier, pink and magenta lines fanning across the ice with the canopy trusses lit to match
