Savant, (Novag Savant)
a dedicated chess computer released in 1981 by Novag Industries LTD. The Savant had a Z80 CPU with 24 KB ROM and 4 KB RAM running on 3.6 MHz. The Savant was years ahead of its time using an LCD chessboard with touchscreen technology 1. The program was based on David Kittinger's MyChess, and competed at the Commercial Group of the WMCCC 1981 in Travemünde and the ACM 1982 in Dallas, Texas.
