you must forgive my anarchist fantasy camp tone here . im finding my way around in the space . following from the last one , i was like ... ok, what's the next rock and roll thing to say after the "power fantasy" (of not being completely disabled by conflict aversion lol,) and it's probably like. "school sux! work sux! (etc)" and well. the rest kind of follows and there you have it. im chasing the Spirit of Rock Music. for great and many wonders have i seen her work ...
actually, i have video of this one with no vocals on it yet laying around too, cause i made a vid after the instrumentals session to send to myself and a couple friends, and then didnt post it! can you believe i delayed gratification. but anyway here's the instrumental if thats interesting
i think that was all one session ?? maybe two . there were a few whole abandoned goes at this basic idea tho. and then i went back for a vocal session, and i kept doing take after take because i hadn't actually figured the melody out formally and i thought i could wing it, and by the end of the session i had gone way past my physical limit, but i had figured the melody out by then and made a couple little lyrics changes too. it was a little agonizing ! i took a couple takes just for memory's sake at the end and i have video of that that im not sharing. its kind of rough ... but it's important to feel out this kind of space too. i definitely learned about my limits and capabilities as a vocalist that day.
anyway then today i went back to just play some drums and i wasnt even sure i was gonna try and touch this, but then i just kind of up and did it without thinking twice and it sounds like, fine, and i need to put it out here to move on. so there !!
