Hey friends, greetings from O’ahu! It’s time to continue our 2025 ASR recap.
After reconnecting at the PDX Summer Jam in Oregon, our friend Alex invited us to teach a speed parkour workshop and set new courses for the Seattle Summer Jam. A few days later, Taylor flew in from Hawai’i after being delayed for a few days due to a tsunami watch. We stayed in Washington for a few weeks to enjoy the beautiful PNW summer and scout/set courses in the nearby cities of Burien, Mercer Island, Tacoma, Bellevue, and Bellingham.
Special thanks to Alex for inviting us to SSJ and helping us set and run 10 new ASR courses around Cascadia. Also, thank you to Nicholas, Cody, and Alex for hosting during SSJ!

We’ve known Alex for over 10 years since he used to coach at Apex Denver. We knew his speed parkour skills were underrated, but this summer, he further proved that he can hang with the best. As head coach of Parkour Visions and main organizer of SSJ, we relied heavily on Alex to help build the ASR project in Washington. In addition to his expert footwork across rails, 1 thing that stood out is how well Alex uses kong vaults to clear gaps and change direction. You don’t often see kong vaults applied well in speed parkour, but Alex leveraged the same move on a few courses.
Taylor’s ASR dominance now extends into Washington, going 5 for 5 with a perfect 100 rating. While we set the Water Garden course in Olympia in 2023, Taylor added 4 more wins to her Washington record in 2025. Her best performances in the Seattle area include the UW and Dairy courses.
After a strong ASR debut in Portland, Benati drove up to the Seattle Summer Jam to tick off 2 more courses. On day 1 of the event, he cruised to the win on Freeway 1, followed by another win on day 2 at UW. A few months later, Benati still sits on top of the 2 most competitive Washington courses so far.
While Scott has not specifically trained much speed parkour, you wouldn’t know it from his work across 5 Seattle courses. His experience in facing difficult, scary movements at height applied well to ASR, allowing him to earn 2 wins and a solid 90+ rating. We’d love to see him run more courses since he has a knack for unlocking the more technical, high-level, and rare options in speed courses.
After seeing Jane gain experience and level up in speed parkour and chase tag competitions over the past few years, we knew she could perform well on a variety of courses. With strong showings at UW, Dairy, and Luther Burbank, Jane proved she can contend for more top times in the future. We hope to see more from her soon!

Our second course at SSJ, UW turned out to be 1 of my favorites in Washington. Located on the southern UW campus near the shoreline of Portage Bay, the training vibes are 10/10. This well-rounded course contains a cascading ascent, a sprint across the top, and a descent that greatly rewards a few big jumps and drops. Even though nobody has smashed the curved rail run at the top yet, I suspect a future course record will combine strong climb-ups, technical rail running, and explosive jumps & drops.

Dairy is another course with immaculate vibes, thanks to the surrounding forest and waters of Lake Washington. The sturdy, concrete remnants of an old dairy farm operation from the 1900s stand in stark contrast to Mercer Island’s natural beauty. 1 of my favorite parts of this course is the many jump/stride options across the top, but also the low lines that challenge threading and climb-up skills.

While the foot/bike traffic here can get heavy on a warm, weekend day, it’s easy to see why so many people are attracted to the area. Lush vegetation and views of Green Lake pair well with tough, chrome rails and clean, concrete walls, creating a nice solarpunk aesthetic to immerse yourself in. While the course is relatively easy for most people to complete, it also rewards elite footwork on rails.

In what might be the USA’s best parkour park, Cordata Speed Run offers challenging elements on rails at height—one of the hardest skills in speed parkour. A nice bar set like this is a rare find outside, making it 1 of the few outdoor training opportunities that will prepare you for the same kind of bar sets featured in many indoor speed parkour competitions. It was fun setting this course with local legends Rafe Kelley and Dane Vennewitz, followed by some post-training cliff jumps at the nearby Whatcom Falls.

Fresh off 2 ASR wins in Portland, Benati extended his streak to Washington with this gorgeous run at Freeway Park. Benati earned cheers and applause from the crowd while cruising to an easy 2-second win, beating all 12 competitors by 17% or more. As usual, Ben’s run video speaks for itself and is full of technical insights if you watch on loop, slow-mo, frame-by-frame, etc.
