Hey friends, greetings from the Black Hills of South Dakota 🦬
After an action-packed summer, we have some catching up to do. It was a busy few months for us, as we bounced around the western USA and Canada (Colorado, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Hawai’i, Wyoming, & South Dakota).
Our first main stop in July was Portland, Oregon—one of the first cities where we set ASR courses back in 2023. It was fun to revisit and keep building in this West Coast parkour hub!
Although we only set 1 new Portland course this year (Keller), we slightly revised and improved 2 old courses (Irving & PSU), and revisited 1 of our favorite ASR courses of all, AuCoin Speed Run.
Special thanks to Jason for inviting us to run ASR courses at the Portland Summer Jam, and big thanks to Jupiter for hosting during the event, and for encouraging ASR participation in local jams ever since!

Ben has been on our radar for a few years now, but just recently ascended to the top tier of speed parkour athletes. After completing his first and second ASR courses at the Portland Summer Jam, he has now racked up a total of 15 runs and 15 course records, earning a perfect player rating of 100. We recently reorganized our athlete rankings by overall player rating, which means Ben is now our top-ranked ASR athlete out of 212 so far 👏
As the original ASR Portland athlete, Taylor racked up 5 Portland runs and course records back in July 2023 during our month-long stay in Portland. While I was resting and rehabbing my knee injury, I set 6 ASR Portland courses for Taylor to run. The original goal was to help her prepare for the SPL parkour world championships in August, but we soon realized that we wanted to scale this project worldwide for anyone and everyone to join!
With the course record on LOHS Speed Run, as well as strong performances on Keller and Jefferson, Jupiter has proven he can zoom with the best. Additionally, he’s a strong coach and community leader who has onboarded many others to the ASR project during his ongoing weekly jams!
Although Jason has only run 1 course so far, his skills and work ethic came to light on Irving Speed Run, which he ran multiple times until he tied Ben’s course record. 1 of our favorite ASR features is that it promotes depth and mastery because you can rerun the courses and set new PRs. If you don’t do as well as you’d like on your first visit, these courses are much easier when you come back to rerun and level up.
Originally set in July 2023 by me and Taylor, AuCoin Speed Run was ASR course number 14 out of 164. To this date, it’s still 1 of the best examples of the type of speed course that we strive to keep setting worldwide. The course is long and challenging, but the Washington Park training vibes are immaculate.
I finally got my first chance to run Aucoin, post PDX Summer Jam, and fresh off an epic shinjury in Lisbon that put me out for a few weeks in June/July. It felt good to get some clean runs, but I couldn’t push too hard and risk reopening the scar.
Shoutout to Ben for running with me and nabbing a new course record of 16.96 seconds, and thanks to Saben for filming and recording an excellent time as well (17.88).
Mind-blowing fact: 2 years ago, while rerunning this course for a new PR, halfway through her first full run of the day, Taylor got stung by a bee inside her nostril! Seriously, what are the odds of that?? 🐝 👃 🤯
Another prime example of the course quality that we’re working to share around the world, PSU Speed Run features a variety of highly technical ascending, descending, and horizontal movements. It’s rare to find an outdoor, public spot that’s capable of highlighting so many key skills like rail strides, threads, wall runs, climb-ups, sprinting, and more.
We also set this course in July 2023, but made a few small changes in July 2025. Specifically, we established more visually clear and definitive time start/stop touchpoints to keep this course as fair, consistent, and accessible as possible. Although we don’t have plans to edit any other ASR courses at this time, we’re open to feedback from anyone who sees any issues with our 164 courses so far.
Ben absolutely smashed this course despite having already set the course record on Keller Speed Run earlier in the day. It was impressive to see him work through both courses with so much intensity and optimism. His process is ruthless and relentless, but also effortlessly efficient. After a short practice, Ben recorded a near-perfect run within just a few attempts, making it possible to keep going hard all day at the PDX Summer Jam.
What really stood out to me about this run is how well Ben laces the rail/wall stride missions at start and finish, as well as his lightning-fast wall run dyno in the middle. He never lets off the gas and never stops pushing forward. His track and field background really shines on this course as he’s able to outjump and outsprint everyone else who’s run the course so far.
We’re a few months into the ASR crowdfunder and have raised around $3000. Thank you so much to all contributors so far, and please consider investing in the project so we can keep scaling and sharing with more people worldwide.
We just finished auditing and reorganizing all ASR stats, leaderboards, etc. Check out the new rankings for males and females, as well as our course stats.
Our YouTube now features new speed run compilations for many top ASR players including Taylor Carpenter, Olof Wood, Joey Jepsen, Matt Jang, Benati Louvouezo, Bekah Jackson, Seth Wang, and Michael Sliger. If you’re looking for high-quality film to study, we’ve got you covered with hundreds of the best runs!
To streamline the verification process of new runs, courses, and locations, we recently created 3 Google Forms to collect submissions (verify your run, submit new couse, & suggest new spot).
Thanks so much to the Portland parkour community for running, setting, and growing this movement. We couldn’t do it without you 🙏
