A major turning point took place in the spirit and in history as we know it. Jesus the Christ, fully man and fully God, was crucified. Nailed and hung on a cross to die, he was executed in a horrific way. Many atrocities happened to Jesus during the process of his execution. At the same time nature itself responded and this is worth noting.
“From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over the whole land.” Matthew 27:45
For three hours the land became dark at a time that one expects the light of day.
The psalmist wrote:
“Yea, though I walk through the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;” Psalm 23:
One can imagine a curtain of darkness, like a cloak, sweeping over the atmosphere at the time Jesus gave up his spirit. The psalmist, however, walked through a type of shadow. It is one thing to visualize this type of imagery and another to actually experience strange phenomenon in nature.
Currently, there are so many strange environmental firsts, shifts and strange phenomenon taking place in the world. It causes one to pause and think. (Selah).
There were record high temperatures in one region of the USA and record cold and extended winter temperatures in other regions.
An AccuWeather headline reported: “Heat wave smashes 149-year-old-record, sets new March record in 7 states.” By Jesse Ferrett. AccuWeather meteorologist. Published March 25 2026.
Hawaii has experienced it’s worst flooding in 20 years as reported by Chicago Tribune
March 20, 2026. Kenya, Africa has also been experiencing torrential rains this month of March, 2026. Tornedos, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, earth quakes. The effects of climate change appear to be making dire marks in the world.
In addition, ferocious wars are active in many continents. There are many people suffering in inordinate ways. February, 2026, New York experienced one of the harshest winter storms for years. These types of storms echo the cold and relentless challenges of wars and rumors of wars currently taking place in the world.
A Psalmist, describes dialogue provided in the skies, the heavens, through nature and by God with humankind.
“The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech.” Psalm 19:1-2
The faithful consistency of having a day or night sky. The stability of the moon in relation to earth’s position. Air one can breathe. These are just a few reasons for gratitude in our response to our Creator, God’s dialogue in the skies.
It is stated in Scripture that “..the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” Romans 8:19.
I pray, in alignment with creation and with a deep earnest, that the children of God, those for God are revealed quickly!
At the time of the cruel crucifixion of Jesus Christ the Sun went into protest. Light give way to darkness for three excruciating hours! Yet at the same time, supernatural warfare was taking place for our souls and a pathway to everlasting life, in God, was opened.
“And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split.” Matthew 27:50-51.
The physical ripping apart of this barrier symbolized a new entry way and a path for all humanity to gain direct access to fellowship with our Father God by His Holy Spirit.
As we move forward through these tumultuous times, I pray that we will seek and facilitate peace, as much as we can, in our immediate environments. I believe that the effects of our positive actions will resound and cause a positive effect for humanity on earth and as it is in heaven.
