When one thinks about bloom or blooming, Merriam Webster Dictionary concisely describes the common thought: A flowering state or a period of flowering. Currently, New York is enjoying a season of flourishing cherry blossoms at their peak. Bloom also, among many other things describes a state or time.
“a state or time of beauty, freshness, and vigor.
a state or time of high development or achievement.” (Merriam Webster Dictionary).
At what state or time does a human being reach their peak?
The NFL (National Football League) drafts are currently in progress and the first-round pick time has been reduced to two minutes! Athletes who are at their peak performance and are at the top of their game will, I’m sure, be selected during this first round. Many athletes in various other arenas of sport train to be the best of the best in their respective field and are recognized for their achievement.
Recently, NASA (National Aeronautics and Space) had a successful crew of astronauts achieve ground breaking success with Artemis II.
“The first crewed flight of the NASA led Artemis program and the first crewed flight beyond low Earth Orbit since Apollo 17 in 1972.” Artemis II - Wikipedia
Is this achievement a current peak of human success?
In the book of Genesis, humans were literally succeeding in raising a tower toward the heavens. God recognized that they would be successful, however, their task was disrupted because they were striving for a realm God, apparently, did not want them to enter.
“Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth…. If as one these people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.” Genesis 11:4 and Genesis 11:6.
They were unified and instrumental yet God did not support this task. Humans are not always precise about gains in the pursuit of various ambitions. World Wars, famine, global warming are just a few examples of man-made issues and conflicts.
At what state or time does a human being reach their peak?
“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” 1 Corinthians 13:12
The writer of this text, Paul the Apostle, answers a question most individuals have. There are insights and revelations that we will never attain in this lifetime, yet there is a time when we shall know everything.
The extent of self, the capabilities that we possess are really beyond our current capabilities to fathom. However, in time, we have the promise of knowing about all aspects of ourselves, especially our spiritual selves.
“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” 1 Thess. 4:16-18.
We have a covenant promise that Jesus Christ shall return again and all those who believe in him shall experience the ultimate transformation into our spiritual selves.
As a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, we shall be transformed into a being that we will recognize at the appointed time.
Our blooming season is yet to be manifested. All humans have the potential of becoming their ultimate selves, in Christ, forever.
