How your nervous system knows when you're settling—and how to stop.

Dear Beautiful Soul,

Good now.

There’s a quiet truth that I keep having conversations around with people I work with, with friends, and family…one that landed fully during this morning’s meditation:

“The person who has arrived at a habitual state of unconditional love will experience anything less to be unacceptable.”
– Dr. David R. Hawkins

Whew. That hit deep.

We often talk about self-love like it’s a bubble bath or a pretty affirmation. But what happens when it becomes a habitual state—something our nervous system expects, something our body begins to require?

Here’s what I’ve noticed:
When you start loving yourself fully, your body will no longer tolerate what drains your energy. It recoils from the subtle and not-so-subtle ways we betray our truth—through over-giving, over-explaining, or accepting less than what aligns.

Unconditional self-love isn’t just a good idea. It’s a frequency. And once you lock into it, anything less feels jarring. Your body knows. Your energy field knows. Your whole system begins to recalibrate, and that recalibration becomes self-perpetuating.

Self-improvement becomes a way of life, as the card also said.
Not from shame or striving—but from love.

The work I do in energy medicine often involves unwinding the frequency of self-betrayal—where someone said “yes” when they meant “no,” or dimmed their light to stay connected. I see time and time again how this energetic pattern shows up in the body: tight shoulders, blocked throats, heavy hearts.

But when we pour into ourselves first, when we reclaim time, attention, and compassion for ourselves, we send a signal to the universe:

I know my worth.
I love myself enough to honor what’s true.

And from that signal, the frequency of wholeness rises.

Two full people meeting in resonance > Two half-healed people trying to fix each other.

Let’s make self-love our baseline.
Not a reward, but a given.
Not a practice we remember, but a state we live from.

Reflection:
What does unconditional self-love look like in action, not just intention?

Is it saying no without guilt? Is it carving out space before giving it to others? Is it rest? Is it boundaries?

Let your answer come from your body, not just your mind.

An Energy Reset Practice:
Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Close your eyes and whisper:
“I no longer settle for what drains me. I choose what restores me.”

Then breathe. And let the frequency of wholeness rise.
