Ed Boks · Animal Politics with Ed Boks

This Friday is my birthday, and it has me in a reflective mood.

When I started Animal Politics, I hoped to create a place for honest questions, difficult conversations, and clear-eyed reporting about the systems that shape the lives of animals. I did not expect how much I would come to value the people who gather here: readers who care enough to pay attention, ask questions, share their experiences, and sometimes push back.

Your support has made this work more than a newsletter. It has made it a community.

To my paid subscribers: thank you. Your support already helps make this work possible, and I am deeply grateful.

If Animal Politics has informed you, challenged you, or simply reassured you that someone is still asking the questions that need to be asked, I have a birthday wish: please consider helping support the work.

You can do that by becoming a paid subscriber, upgrading your subscription, giving a gift subscription, or making a contribution. Your support helps create the time and independence needed to follow leads, review records, speak with sources, obtain public records, and keep reporting.

And please know this: there is no expectation and no pressure. Many of you already support this work simply by reading, sharing, writing to me, and being part of the conversation. I am grateful for all of it.

But if you are able to make a birthday gift, I would receive it not just as a kindness to me, but as encouragement to keep going.

Thank you for being here.

With appreciation,

Ed
