Before You Ask an Intuitive About Your Relationship, Read This

Relationship questions are some of the most common (and most sensitive) things people bring to an intuitive. And after supporting so many clients through relationship questions, I wanted to put this guidance in one place - because the stakes are higher than most people realize.

So consider this your guide to navigating intuitive relationship guidance with more clarity and confidence.

If you’re going to ask someone for insight on your relationship, the bar needs to be high (because your soul path depends on it). This isn’t the place for a general yes/no reader or someone working from surface-level impressions.

Here’s what I’d look for before trusting anyone with this kind of question:

1. Are they experienced with timelines? Relationship guidance isn’t just about right now. A skilled intuitive should be able to see how staying in a relationship leads to one outcome, leaving leads to another, and what the six-month or two-year ripple effects look like. Without that, you’re only getting a snapshot - and snapshots can be misleading.

2. Can they read soul contracts? There’s a lot of desire right now to find a soulmate or soul complement. That’s beautiful. But if the person you’re working with can’t read soul contracts or assess your actual soul path, they could point you in a direction that takes you off course rather than toward it. I’m very careful with this for my own clients, because relationship guidance isn’t just personal - it has ripple effects.

For example, I do have a soul complement available to me in this lifetime, but to be with him would take me off my soul path for 3 years. Because my soul path is more important to me, I’m actually meant to be with my soulmate instead.

3. Are they checking for dark force interference? This is one that most people don’t think to ask about, but it matters enormously. There is a specific dark force entity whose primary job is sabotaging relationships. It can make you believe someone is wrong for you when they’re not, or convince you that you’re meant to be with someone else entirely. If your reader isn’t checking for this (both checking themselves and you), they may be giving you information that’s been interfered with.

4. Do they know which energy fields they're actually reading? An undertrained intuitive — even a naturally gifted one — can easily pick up on your thought and emotional field without realizing it. When that happens, they end up confirming what you already think or feel rather than accessing independent information. True precision in relationship readings requires foundational knowledge of the different energy fields and a specific, practiced way of making sure your client's own thoughts and emotions aren't coloring the read.

When I assess compatibility for a client, I look at four areas: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual alignment.

Here’s what most people don’t realize: you don’t need a four out of four match to have a beautiful, lasting relationship. A two or three out of four match can absolutely work. Sometimes people are meant to be with a three out of four match in this lifetime, which is perfect for their soul growth and their soul purpose.

What matters more is understanding where you’re aligned right now, where you have potential to grow into alignment, and what the timeline looks like for that growth (as well as the lessons you’re meant to fulfill with this person).

This is why rushing out of a relationship because you’re not perfectly matched is often a mistake. The lessons don’t disappear when you leave…they follow you into the next relationship. Better to stay (if it’s safe to do so), do the inner work, and let your next relationship be a genuine upgrade. Otherwise you’re just repeating the same patterns with new people.

This is a question I ask my client’s higher self…and the answer is almost never what they expect.

Not everyone is meant to be with their soulmate or soul complement in this lifetime. For some people, the timing simply isn’t right yet. For others, meeting that person before they’re ready could actually damage the connection, which would cause far more pain than waiting.

Before asking “when is my soulmate coming?”—it’s worth asking:

  • Am I feeling complete within myself, or am I looking for someone to fill a gap?

  • Is my financial energy stable and grounded?

  • Am I clear on my soul pull and moving toward it?

When you meet a significant soul connection from a place of wholeness rather than hunger, everything changes. The relationship anchors instead of destabilizes. That’s what we’re building toward.

Going to multiple intuitives and asking the same question - no, no no.

I see this constantly, and I want to be direct with you: your higher self does not like this. When you shop for the answer you want, you will start receiving conflicting information…and that confusion, doubt, and frustration isn’t a coincidence. It’s a signal.

Find one person whose gifts you trust and whose approach resonates. Go to them. If they feel someone else could serve you better for a specific question, they’ll tell you. But chasing the same question across multiple readers will not give you clarity. It will give you noise.

In my experience, the fact that someone is asking that question almost always means the answer is “not yet.”

If there were truly no lessons left and no path forward, you wouldn’t be wondering—you’d already know. The question itself usually signals that something unfinished is asking for your attention.

That’s not a reason to stay in something unhealthy or unsafe. But it is a reason to get honest about what patterns you’re still carrying - because they will come with you wherever you go.

Relationship guidance, done well, is one of the most powerful things you can receive. Done carelessly, it can nudge you off a path that took lifetimes to build.

Before your next reading, ask yourself:

  • Is this person working with timelines, soul contracts, and dark force awareness—or just impressions?

  • Am I going to one trusted source, or shopping for a preferred answer?

  • Am I asking from a grounded place, or from fear and urgency?

Your soul already knows the way. A great intuitive just helps you hear it more clearly.
