Summer is flying by over here.
We’ve been finding lots of ways to keep books part of our summertime routine: library trips, reading together, participating in our library’s summer reading program, (ahem!) Kids Ask Authors Answer. I also went to the Grand Canyon for the first time! Definitely recommend it as a family trip
So I’ve been a little busy, but this week I have several exciting book-related updates to share with you.
I’m excited to be hosting another picture book giveaway!
One lucky winner will receive a collection of 12 children’s books, including:
7 hardcover picture books
1 board book
1 activity book
Plus several additional children’s titles - including mine

On August 5th, I’m teaming up with a huge group of children’s authors for a one-day-only free kids ebook event.
Right now, there are already 166 children’s books listed on my website, with more being added (no AI here!).
So parents who are looking for new bedtime stories, teachers who are building your classroom library, and/or grandparents searching for books for their grandkids, this is a great chance to discover new authors and download free books.
I recommend browsing the list ahead of time and making note of any books you’d like to grab when the event goes live. There will also be bulk download options to download multiple books in select countries.
Just remember: the free books will only be available for ONE day.
This Saturday (July 18th) we’ll be welcoming Lisa Cortez to Kids Ask Authors Answer with her book The Adventures of Marie and LeeLee!
There’s still time to read her book and send in your child’s questions. One of my favorite parts of this series is hearing the unexpected questions kids come up with.
Simply reply to this email with your child’s question, and we’ll do our best to include it in the interview.
I’m also excited to share an update on our Kids Ask Authors Answer Books Into Hands Initiative!
The goal is simple: get more books into schools and libraries.
So far, generous children’s book authors have donated 63 books to help make that happen.
We’ve recently added a section to our website where anyone can help support the initiative by:
Making a donation
Purchasing a book from our wishlist
Every book donated helps create more opportunities for children to discover stories they might not otherwise have access to. Thank you to everyone who has already supported this project.
You can also recommend a school or library that might need some books!
Why did the kid bring a book to the pool?
Because they wanted to dive into a good story.
If you love discovering great children’s books and laughing at the wild ride of motherhood, you’ll feel right at home on my social channels. I share honest book recommendations, funny mom moments, behind-the-scenes peeks at our family adventures, and plenty of lighthearted entertainment to brighten your day. Follow along on your favorite platform and come join the fun!
