If You Don’t Need to Forgive gets banned, I’ll take it as a badge of honor. It means the book is doing exactly what I intended—challenging conventional beliefs about forgiveness, giving voice to those often silenced, and pushing back against systems that prioritize the comfort of perpetrators over the healing of survivors. This book refuses to accept the status quo, advocating for trauma recovery that is inclusive, and rooted in social justice. If that makes some people uncomfortable, good. Change has never come from playing it safe.
