People are really fucking hateful and want to be angry about something

There was this woman on facebook who said yelled into a witchcraft facebook community, “Don’t call yourself a baby witch! You aren’t a child.”

Ok, first of all, my reaction to this was, “Shut the fuck up and mind your own business. Take your superiority complex and flex it at your knitting group or your book club. Do you have nothing else to do but get on here and be angry about something that doesn’t affect you?”

And the answer is… yes. She has nothing else to do. I think to myself, man, am I so busy that I don’t have the thought space to go searching for these kinds of things?

Well, I have my own things I get angry about, which brought me to this: Humans want to be angry. They (as in you and me) want to be violent about something. Yes you. We are both included.

What does this have to do with Lucifer? Don’t worry, I will get to it.

Anyway, I responded (which I probably shouldn’t have), and not with the intended remarks that I wanted to say. I said instead that people should call themselves what they want (but I added that they shouldn’t go publishing books or blogs about it and I didn’t give context so I got backlash for that part - I will write a longer piece about that later). Let and let live, right?

Noooooooo. Immediately the rage bait and hate rolled in.

Here is what I notice: You go to a Rennaisance Festival and people are excited to dress and play. Someone wants to identify as something and other people have opinions about it. Why? Why do people have to have opinions about what someone is doing privately when it doesn’t affect them or their world (and by their world, I include cultural appropriation which leads to systemic racism and margionalization)?

If someone wants to call themselves a baby witch, or an ocean witch, or a rock witch… let them?

Oh wait, right, I forgot for a moment in my cute little hobbit hole in the middle of the woods in Austin Texas that the world is really focused on creating rules and laws for people in which they aren’t. Let a trans person be trans. Let a woman have an abortion. Let people be a dwarf priest of the seven isles. It DOES NOT AFFECT YOU.

Why then are people upset?

Well, for one thing, control is a trauma response. We want to control our world (or overcontrol) when we feel we are out of control. So, we turn to things that we may have power to control when we can’t deal with our feelings.

Many people (most?) were traumatized by the pandemic. Some people are traumatized by the election of our current president in the USA. Some people are traumatized by the ghosting break-up of someone they were with for 7 months. And how do we deal with it?

Violence. Yep, you’re violent in one form or another. Violent against a video game, violent in bed, violent in your car, violent… somewhere. Maybe it’s against your weeds in your yard but we are all violent creatures.

Here is where Lucifer comes in:

In Satanism, I want to point out number seven from the Nine Satanic Statements:

Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!

Most. Not one of. MAN IS THE MOST VICIOUS ANIMAL OF ALL!

True. Even in regular conversation, you’re going to find vicious people in Facebook or Reddit land. They have nothing better to do than be a part of toxic cancel culture and act superior to those they don’t know. Ugly.

Maybe it’s time for me to look into Luciferianism or Satanism for a bit. One thing I do know as a master exorcist is this: Your human client is much more dangerous than the spirit we have to remove. Humans hunt each other, wear each other, oppress each other… We might be the worst thing that has ever happened, and that is you and me included.
