After a stressful weekend watching The Pitt (Grey's Anatomy on angel dust, for those not in the know), this episode ended me. Here are the worst decisions, starting with the most jail-worthy.
Mistake #1 — Mike White Writing an Incest Plot Line
Mike White is a genius but like… does he have porn addiction brainrot or something? Or is he just writing like it? Cause I can’t quite tell. Maybe that’s the point.
He nailed capturing a sliver of Gen Z masculinity struggles with season one’s Quinn, whose family dynamic encouraged little beyond video games and jerking off. And in season two, with Albie’s #notallmen nice guy act—many such cases! Lochlan, though, comes from a family of decent people.
He’s not the black sheep because he’s a guy—he’s the black sheep because he’s not taking advantage of all that it has to offer, according to (former?) sex-pest Saxon at least. So why did Lochlan flip the script and *gags* go back for that second brotherly smooch? To fight against the system being pushed on him, or to prove he belongs?
Look, incest is real. It’s tragic. It happens. Whatever! I just feel like it’s way too dark a theme for this show to wrap around without completely drowning in it. In the words of Titus Burgess expressing his disdain for Jacob imprinting on Reneesme in Twilight: Breaking Dawn, “They could’ve found another way.”

Mistake #2 — Piper Meditating with a $100 Candle
If Piper has no haters, I’m dead! I was this close to softening to her, then she busted out the Diptyque. It’s giving Ras Trent at Burning Man, or for my youth, Shani Blake treating a kidney infection with vibes and ayahuasca.
Also, if you’re moving to Thailand, isn’t step one getting the chill parent on board first? Or is that just a children-of-divorce tactic? Either way, if she paid attention to her dad, she’d see that he’s clearly in crisis and has nothing to lose!
Mistake #3 — Rick Lowkey Putting Out a Vibe with Frank
Either Rick’s still a bit nonverbal from the gas station weed, or he’s actually a very good listener and supportive friend. Unclear why he couldn’t apply those same characteristics with Chelsea instead of leaving her stranded on a boat, but I digress.
First, Frank hits him with unsolicited ladyboy lore. Then, Rick turns around and asks for help with a bit of roleplay? Don’t threaten that man with a good time!
Don’t make me beg!
Mistake #4 — Jaclyn Raw Dogging with the Russian
Jaclyn’s pick-me crimes have been deranged, but this one is a health emergency.
Honorable mentions:
Was Tim really planning to off himself right there in the living room? Where’s the decorum? I thought manners were everything in the south. At least take it outside like a professional.
Chloe saying she likes being with younger guys because their little hearts beat out of their chests? Chloe, sweetie, why don’t you go ahead and take a seat for me.
Style Moments to Note
They keep hinting at Chelsea’s death, which is why I think (hope) it isn’t going to happen. But her full moon eye makeup and alien shirt this episode did a great job conveying the otherworldly angel she truly is.
Anyway, what did you guys think of the episode? And can someone watching The Pitt explain why I physically cannot stop tuning in and weeping through every single hour?
Side note: Congrats to the whole team for the soundtrack this episode. These songs in particular (when the rave/ full moon party were fully kicking off) were an immediate Add to Library.
