Last night I had a dream that I met Keturah. As happens so often in dreams, a strange series of events transpired. We became immediate best friends and naturally, I used our newfound friendship to ask all the questions I’ve always wanted answered about what happens behind the scenes of Style Class.
How long does it take to prepare? Who chooses the theme/products/run of show? Unrelated but what is your clothing discount and how many Liam jackets do you own?
Before she could spill any trade secrets, Amy called. There was some sort of Tibi emergency. A packing crisis? A sample that had gone missing? There was something about Germany. The details are fuzzy. Amy demanded that Keturah report to work immediately, and off she went. Readers, is this a gentle message from my subconscious that I may, in fact, be a little too invested (literally and metaphorically) in Tibi? Is it time to slowly back away from watching Style Class three times in a row and taking notes like I’m covering the State of the Union?
Maybe someday, but today is not that day.
We open with Keturah slaying in the Active Knit Winslows and the matching Active knit top.

We’re less than a minute in and I’m immediately distracted by the shoes. This Gwinnett Camouflage Mule!!!!!! So fab with her more neutral outfit. Dang.
2:05: The color wheel comes out. We’re getting our colors done “the Tibi way.” I take a moment to check my notes because I feel like we just covered the color wheel. And by “we” I mean Tibi and moi, obvi.
Sure enough, Ep. 23 was also all about colors. I know I’m getting old because that feels like yesterday. All good, I always appreciate a refresher because despite having watched 437 hours of Amy explaining the color wheel, it never gets old.
3:38: Stella asks us to imagine a firefighter wearing hot pink.
First thought -
Second thought - I mean, why not actually?
That said, Squid Games probably ruined any chance of pink uniforms for all of us.
I become so committed to picturing a pink fire department that I completely stop listening and have to rewind. I’ve lost the point of what Stella is saying - it’s something about why neutrals are so important.
4:01: Fleet Week gets a mention which immediately makes me think of one of my favorite Sex and the City episodes. Again, I’ve lost the point but it’s something about uniforms and neutrals.
9:00: Let’s talk about Stella’s red leather skirt.
It will surprise no one that I genuinely love this skirt. It will also surprise no one that I cannot and will not buy another Tibi trouser skirt. That said, I love knowing that this skirt is part of Fundamentals. I do a quick calculation and realize that even if I sold all of my current trouser skirts it wouldn’t be enough for the $1,195 price tag of This Red Leather Fundamental.
9:18: Sloan enters.
As usual, no notes. Actually, one note: I would like Sloane’s closet if her closet includes everything they dress her in on Style Class. Also, Stella’s hair is so shiny. Do you think she always has a glossy blowout or she’s the kind of lucky in life girl who has naturally shiny hair? You know that girl in high school who won all the awards and was the Prom Queen and was also so nice that you couldn’t hate her? I’m looking at you, Atlantic High School Class of 1993 Julianne M.
Sloane breaks down what makes her look so sneaky sophisticated so we can try this at home. It’s the mix of textures; poplin on top and tropical wool on the bottom with the mirrored wrap sandals. I can try this with components in my closet for sure. Done and done - very educational!
16:21: This is interesting. Stella starts in the Gwinnett which is so chic but the trouser skirt ends up looking better - to my eye - with the loafer.
And this is how they get you to buy a loafer and a heel.
But we all have loafers already, so let’s get back to the Gwinnett. You guys, the heel is worrying me. Not the height but the way it’s a little inverted. It’s giving me a triggering memory of falling down in my Victors? Do we think this innocent looking kitten heel is safe?
18:00: Hello olive square-toe boot with the same heel style as the Gwinnett.
Well, well, well.
These are nice.
26:00: Love this styling moment. The Ring 4 dress becomes grounded and relaxed with the flat black sandal and suddenly the whole situation feels calmer, cooler, and more wearable. Good reminder about how to wear a Ring 4 dress and not feel like a member of the Junior League.
28:00: Sloan looks gorgeous. Again. You have to ask yourself if it’s the clothes or the person wearing them? Love the color story here.
31:00: I’m calling it. The shoes have won this week. We need an entire episode about the fall shoes. They are dominating the clothes.
33:31: Actually, wait. Just when my attention is waning, what is this coat? It’s coming soooooon!
36:00 They’re wrapping the sandal ties around the pants again. My eye, which violently rejected this styling trick three episodes ago, has adjusted. Now I think it’s rad. Amy wins again.
37:55: Question for the group: Does anyone own an Active Knit top? The fabric is throwing me off… it looks sort of shiny?
40:51: A close up of the Gwinnett and for a moment it seems like we are finally going to get an actual shoe discussion. But, no - we are just getting a quick close up. More please!
42 minutes: Stella describes the jacket that has climbed near the top of my wish list.
Stella talks about wearing the jacket from barre class to Whole Foods. Everyone at Tibi goes to barre class. I hate barre class.
44:00 Keturah walks out in the smoky blue suit. Game over. This is my favorite color of the collection. Stunning.
45:50: Maddie appears in the brown Winslows. They are spectacular. I didn’t like this tank on me but it’s fab on her. Brown and black is a winner every time.
52:00: Sloane layers two blues together. Really beautiful. Am I right that the blue pants are Ring 3 and her blue top is Ring 4?
55 minutes: Brown Winslows. Pink Ali Sandals. Mustard cami. Maybe my favorite look of this episode?
Final thoughts:
The blues, the shoes, and the Active Knit Buff Winslows (who knew a neutral trouser could be so glamorous?) are the stars this week ❤️❤️❤️. Also, it’s all about the square toe this season.
Cocktail of the week!
This is a Brazilian Lemonade (or if you want to be fancy, Limonada Suíça) and it’s a frosty, delicious summer cocktail. The recipe:
LIMONADA SUÍÇA BASE
3 washed limes, quartered
3 cups of water
14oz (1 can) condensed milk
Place limes and water in a blender, run on high for 60 seconds. Fine strain through a fine mesh, then add condensed milk. Start at half the can (7oz), blend and taste. Add more condensed milk to your preference of sweetness. Add white rum, tequila, or lime/citrus vodka to taste plus ice.
We Steven ended up peeling the limes instead of blending them whole. The drink was too bitter unless we he peeled them before blending. Enjoy!

I love knowing what the trendy names are and I’m constantly dreaming up names for my future dogs. Daughter Three has 7 year old campers with the following names in her group: Kit, Louise, and Dottie. How cute! Who would have guessed these are the popular names now? Also, I met a cute dog while on a walk this week and when I inquired about his name, his owner responded, “Jimmy Dean, like the sausage.” This made my week, and I don’t think it’s just because it’s been a slow week.

I am constantly inspired by my Gen Z daughters’ style. All three of them have a different sensibility and Daughter Three, Charlotte, is the Vogue subscriber of the family. She asked to make a contribution to the newsletter this week about two brands that she will be shopping as soon as she gets paid (two days)! Here is her contribution.
My friends and I like to play games of the “would you rather/deserted island” variety. One of my favorite questions to ask is, “if you could only wear one brand of clothing for your whole life (no budget), what would you pick?” For me the answer to that question is DOEN. Their delicate and princess-like clothing are oftentimes lightweight, sheer, and absurdly expensive. Due to my budget constraints and the fact that Scotland’s climate doesn’t match well with thin summery dresses (and that I’m a poor college student), I only have a teeny tiny collection of DOEN items that I have been building throughout the years. That said, one of the best times to shop is during their annual summer warehouse sale that is coming up this week on the 14th and ending on the 19th. I’m sure that some already have their eye on some pieces or have seen some ideas on social media, but I have compiled a list of my picks that aren’t just the Henri Top or Sebastian Skirt that everyone already has. If anything on my list goes on sale, will be making it into my cart.
This year at school I discovered the brand The Are through all of the cool Spanish and London girls at my college, St. Andrews. This Spanish brand has lots of fun and interesting clothing for mostly affordable prices. They also just so happen to be having a summer sale currently! I have my eye on these trousers and this matching set (top and skirt).

Elm Biosciences (by Martha Stewart!) A3o Elemental Serum and A3o Elemental Night Cream - These products were generously gifted and I’ve been using them for a few weeks. I love both, particularly the night cream. My dry, sensitive skin soaks up both products. If you are sensitive to scent, note that the serum has a slight scent. I am not bothered by scent and I like it very much. That said, I always have a hard time assessing if my serums are actually doing anything (besides feeling great on the skin and making makeup sit better, etc). On the other hand, I can tell the night cream is effective in that I feel hydrated and dewy when I wake up in the morning instead of red and tight. I am on a retinoid and other actives and my skin needs all the hydration it can get. I would purchase these! Even better, they are also both on sale right now.
