This week, a handmade sign hanging in a Nantucket shop sparked a national conversation.
It read simply: “No Influencers.”
The stories that followed described behavior that would frustrate almost anyone: people walking into small businesses without greeting anyone, immediately setting up cameras, treating beautiful shops like film sets, and leaving without ever acknowledging the people behind the counter.
If that’s what we’re talking about, then I don’t disagree.
It’s rude. It isn’t charming. It isn’t excusable. And it certainly isn’t good etiquette.
