Hey friends!
Busy week over here! I’ve switched gears from painting to a lot of logistics and documentation. As of last week, I finished all 14 paintings for my upcoming show for the Greenroom Festival out in Japan. So hyped! The new collection is truly special for me and a new moment in my work evolution. I cannot wait to share with new and old friends out in Japan.
Documentation has been fun. My main focus is always to get up close photos so we can do prints later on. I must say, this is easier said than done, as lighting is super hard to get even naturally, and even with flashes. I got those dialed in, then a friend came over and did a day in the life photoshoot for lifestyle vibes. Those came out so good!
Logistics is really planning, which I’m terrible at. Flights, where I’m staying, what I’m doing. Still behind on that one, but spent some nights looking at these things.
I also added a new print to the shop from my solo show ‘Everydays’. I’m slowly adding these over time and excited to add a new one in there.

Before I ship out all my paintings to Japan, I wanted to have a small gathering of friends here in NYC to share this new body of work. I’ve been heads down painting, I haven’t shown anyone in person (outside the internet). A few friends and collectors came over, and we shared a moment reflecting. It was so cool getting feedback from everyone, sharing my sketchbook, and general creative process. It really gave me some confidence as this new work is incredibly vulnerable for me.
My friend Nick Kaschak came over this week and photographed me painting and snapping photos of the new body of work. Loving the vibes with film. I’ll share more of these out later.
I also spent time photographing each painting for future print drops and general documentation. As you know, I capture every piece of work to have in the archives. I find it incredibly important, and when these paintings find new homes, it’s a cool way for me to look back at the work.
On top of all my canvas paintings, I’ve been spending some time sketching up some smaller 9x12” in. paper paintings. At the show, I’ll be doing live painting each day, similar to these.
I’ve been juggling logistics. Both shipping my paintings and also housing when I’m in Japan. I’ll be out there for 10 days. 4 of those days will be with the gallery, but the others, before and after I need to find guesthouses to stay at. This part I’m terrible at planning, and had to figure that out this week. Scrambling over here!
Added a new print, ‘Sunset Walks’, to the shop. Available in a variety of sizes and limited to 100 editions.
