Hey friends!
What a month and a productive past week for me. I moved from initial sketches over to some paper paintings, then now primarily focusing on canvas. It’s been a wild rabbit hole watching the days fly by as i’m glued in on these paintings. Some have been so easy, while others have brought frustration. That being said, part of the creative process, and when I push through, the results have been out of this world. I’m really digging how these paintings are coming to fruition and can’t wait for the next ones. My goal is to paint every day on canvas, and when I get closer to the show in May, i’ll curate which ones best fit for the show.
Outside of painting for Greenroom Festival, I’ve pulled together our next batch of paintings for Open Studios - March. These go live on Monday, March 30th, for 48 hours. Set your reminders! It’s been great feedback, and I love bringing more consistent drops for you all to collect my art.
Overall, the month has been super focused on painting, giving myself this space to truly focus on my next show. I made the decision to push my evolving style for this next show. As of right now, this is all I’ll be showcasing for Japan. Incredibly nervous sharing this direction as folks are used to my current flat linework. That being said, I’m challenging myself to bring in that new new. I hope you are liking it as much as I am. It’s feeling organic, free flowing, and when I look back at my older work, this evolution is a great pairing. Alimo world is growing, and I love to see myself pushing forward on ideas. Truly pushing the viewer to put themselves in the paintings in those moments.

New Paintings!
Been having a lot of fun painting this week and the last few weeks for my upcoming show at Greenroom Festival in Japan. A few new paintings below! Really excited and challenging week pushing forward on these paintings. Some come so naturally, others I rework and layer to get the feelings right. Let me know what you think! Over the past few weeks, Hawaii has gotten hit with some crazy flooding that has damaged nearly the whole island. It’s been tough to watch. There are plenty of foundations accepting recovery support. Here are few below.
