Happy Springtime friends!
Been a fun up and down weather here in NYC. The trees are starting to wake up as the cold weather pushes out and Spring weather kicks in. I think I speak for everyone here in NYC that we are ready for warmer temps lol.
Studio-wise, been productive! I got a few new paintings done, both incredibly challenging mentally, and I'm proud of how they came out. I added a few photos below of the progress.
I also pushed out a new website! www.alimo.art. As mentioned in the prior post, I’ve been trying to separate out my fine art from my shop. This new approach splits things up in an intentional way to help navigate the user (and me). While I’m still adding work into the mix, it’s a cool way to navigate my work individually to focus on each piece at hand. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Let’s dive into it!
This week has been productive and super challenging slowing down and moving from my sketchbook to paper and canvas. It’s crazy, my sketchbook, I paint so fast in it, between 30 minutes to max an hour on one piece getting ideas out. When I move over to paper and canvas, that focus stretches out, fine-tuning the other details. It’s been great moving over and adding a few new paintings to the week.
I wrapped up one solid paper painting and another 16x20” in. on canvas. Both are visually similar, but the textures are dramatically different. Paper feels more loose, while canvas is more rigid and captures paint in another way. I love working with both materials as they give off these different effects.
Below are a few from this week. Excited to see what next week brings in.
This was a trip going through my work over the years. Time flies! New work gets produced, and then you move on to the next project. This was a good exercise for me to filter through my work, find shows, interviews, and generally see what I’ve produced. Super stoked on how this all came out. I really wanted the user to spend time on each project individually and to soak it up, rather than a collage of images competing with one another. Check it out!
Also, don’t worry alimofun.com is still alive and well. I’m still tweaking and expect more work in there. Open Studio is just around the corner!
