WEEKLY EDGE: Redefine Impossible, one week at a time.

Your dose of practical wisdom for body and mind in under 5 minutes.

After writing Daily Edge for 6 months, I wanted to expand the short inspirations into something deeper.

Each week, I’ll share practical wisdom, fitness and health tips, and inspiring stories of people who have redefined their impossible.

  1. Thought of the Week – Why small gains beat big goals

  2. Emotional Eating – A mindset shift that changed everything

  3. Redefining Impossible – From hating running to running ultras

We often overestimate what we can do in a week and underestimate what we can do in a year.

The One Percent Rule is simple: improve just a little every day, and over time, it compounds into something massive.

Ask yourself: What’s one small upgrade I can make today?

Go to bed 15 minutes earlier. Add one more push-up. Read two pages.

Small edges create big change.

When I quit smoking 7 years ago, I replaced one addiction with another: food. I gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted, and soon I was overweight, bingeing on sweets, and feeling ashamed.

What I realized over time is this: emotional eating isn’t about calories, it’s about desire. Junk food isn’t “naughty but nice.” It’s an addiction designed to hook us, celebrated in culture, and tied to our emotions.

The breakthrough came when I treated it the same way I treated smoking: not as a harmless indulgence, but as a trap. Once I understood it for what it was, the desire started to fade.

If you’re struggling with emotional eating, try this shift: see food not as comfort, but as fuel to nourish your body and soul.

I didn’t start running because I loved it. I started to quit smoking, running around the block with shoes full of holes.

Years later, I found myself at the start line of a 100km race. Next week, I’ll be running UTMB: 170km through the Alps with 10,000 meters of elevation.

How? By breaking the impossible into micro wins. I don’t think about the full 170km. I just ran to the next checkpoint. 14 checkpoints, 14 small goals.

That’s how you redefine impossible, not in one giant leap, but one step at a time.

“We suffer more often in imagination than in reality.” – Seneca

What’s one “impossible” you’ve been carrying and what would redefining it look like this week?
