The week started with the Japan Matsuri in Trafalgar Square, but I couldn’t stay as long as I usually would because this year it clashed with London Fashion Week. I missed the first fashion show in Shoreditch, but went to the 3 pm and onwards shows. Out of all the fashion shows, I prefer doing Fashion Scout, as I seem to sell more photos at their shows. In the following days, I did a ballerina shoot. On Saturday, my favourite event of the week at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich was setting a new Guinness World Records™ title for the largest gathering of people dressed as film and TV characters. Eight hundred seventy-four people turned up to break the record. After Greenwich, I headed to King’s Cross for the Classic Car Boot Sale. You can find out more about the events I photographed below.
Japan Matsuri is the UK’s biggest annual festival of Japanese culture and food. It took place in Trafalgar Square. Showcasing Japanese culture in the UK, Japan Matsuri has attracted a loyal audience of Londoners, the Japanese community and other visitors, families and friends each year since 2009. Good place to photograph, and a good idea to get a photo pass to get up front at the stage.
It’s the last few days of London Fashion Week, and with over 8000 photos shot from 21 designer shows, it’s been a blast. Always one of my favourite events of the year to shoot, you don’t have the cold of February, but still the residues of summer warmth. It’s day four of London Fashion Week, and it’s the last day of Fashion Scout in Shoreditch. The 3 pm show is Agro Studio by George and Angus. They have extensive experience in styling, tailoring, and set work. Both are graduates of LCF. Their SS25 collection, titled Prophet, references tarot cards, the Joker, and the contradictions of modern life, exploring the tension between certainty and confusion. The collection features couture ball gowns paired with British school shirting, as well as combinations of leather with tulle and shearling with technical fabrics. The result is a harmonious chaos, an aesthetic now recognised as the AGRO signature. Colours are soft and muted, accented with flashes of yellow and hand-painted textiles. The artisanal techniques employed span traditional corsetry, streetwear finishes, leather craft, and hand beading. Each piece is crafted in-house at the London atelier. The closing looks to pay homage to the era-defining finales of Westwood and Dior, where volume, historical references, and grandeur elevated shows into a fantastical realm.
It’s the fourth day of London Fashion Week, featuring Chih-Wen Kuo at Fashion Scout, part of FJU Talents. Kuo Chih-Wen is a knitwear designer known for her expertise in textile innovation and sweater pattern development. She graduated from the Department of Textiles and Clothing at Fu Jen Catholic University.
Juanjuan Xu, who graduated in Fashion Design from Fu Jen Catholic University, launched her brand juanpak.o in 2025. Her recent collection, Inter-Shadow, examines the themes of distance and connection among individuals, depicting interpersonal tension with changing silhouettes and evolving patterns. Emphasising the fluid nature of human interactions, this work expresses a longing to reconnect with genuine and meaningful social bonds.
Founded in 2025 by Lin Yizhen, a graduate of the Department of Textiles and Clothing at Fu Jen Catholic University, E.JEN is a womenswear brand defined by its sensitivity to colour and material. Through innovative use of elasticity and twisted structures, E.JEN celebrates the natural elegance of the female form, translating inner emotions and energy into contemporary fashion with refinement and purpose.
Ying Chu, a Taiwanese knitwear designer residing in London, graduated from Fu Jen Catholic University and completed her MA in Fashion at the Royal College of Art. She merges knitting with various techniques to turn abstract emotions and intangible memories into tangible forms, crafting fabrics and garments that tell visual stories and evoke a sense of presence.
Chiyue, a skilled womenswear designer from Shanghai, is recognised for her unique style that merges creative artistry with technical accuracy. She completed her Master’s in Women's Wear at London College of Fashion (LCF), sharpening her expertise with guidance from tutors at Central Saint Martins (CSM). Her new brand, TIFARET, reflects her distinctive aesthetic, bold, expressive, and carefully designed.

Nathan Slate, a designer and artist from Somerset, England, works across fashion, craft, and fine art. He views fashion as an integral part of his wider artistic practice. Each collection reflects his artistic vision, blending craftsmanship, sustainability, and storytelling.
Nichoir, a London-based fashion label founded by Nicolae-Vladut Radu, blends darkness with romance. The brand creates garments that balance structure and fluidity, with each piece thoughtfully designed to merge precise tailoring with emotional depth. This invites the wearer into a hauntingly poetic world.
Yonzu is a fashion label based in London and Seoul, founded by RCA graduate Yonzu Lee. The brand investigates the flexible boundaries between categories, gender, function, and season, using a design approach grounded in contradiction and hybridity.
In September, I organised a ballerina and model photoshoot at Cassiobury Park in Watford with Meghan, a talented ballerina. We utilised various park areas as our background. Working with Meghan is always enjoyable because she knows how to pose and can adapt to different styles. During autumn, the park's vibrant changing leaves provided a perfect backdrop for ballerina and model poses. The Old Royal Naval College and Elstree Studios have made history, setting a new Guinness World Records™ title for the largest gathering of people dressed as film and TV characters. On Saturday, 27th September, the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Greenwich was transformed into a dazzling real-life movie set as 874 fans arrived dressed as 45 iconic screen characters – from Queen Charlotte and Jack Sparrow to Luke Skywalker, Batman and Indiana Jones.
The UK’s leading vintage event, The Classic Car Boot Sale, took place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September, marking 10 years of vintage celebrations at King’s Cross. Bringing a curated mix of vintage fashion, classic cars and sustainable shopping, the event will once again take over Granary Square, Lewis Cubitt Square and Coal Drops Yard.
