Another busy week of exhibitions and art shows that opened in September, kicking off the autumn months. Plus, London Fashion Week takes place later this week, with lots of shows to attend. My highlight was the Prophetik fashion show at the Tower of London. Below is a list of the events I attended, with a selection of photos; you can find more via the links provided. In brackets are the number of photos I shot.
A landmark exhibition celebrating 100 years of Picasso’s groundbreaking painting, The Three Dancers (1925). Bringing together over 50 works by one of the 20th century’s most influential artists, the exhibition delves into the role of performance in Picasso’s creative practice. Coinciding with Tate Modern’s 25th anniversary, Theatre Picasso continues the gallery’s tradition of reimagining the legacies of pivotal art historical figures. It was an early start for the press preview, and I had my assistant, Iryna, with me, who takes video, and I photograph the exhibition and take some photos with her modelling, which the newspapers like. Sometimes, for photographers, there is a photocall and a press preview. A photocall is just for news photographers, and the Tate provides models that you can photograph with the art. A press preview is for journalists and photographers; there is usually a tour or a talk about the exhibition. I sometimes prefer to go to the preview to learn more about the art, and sometimes I write an article on my blog.

Frieze Sculpture 2025 is the 13th edition of the much-celebrated free public art initiative in London’s Regent’s Park. Taking place from 17th September until 2nd November 2025. This year’s theme is shadows, with 14 sculptures by international artists curated by Fatoș Üstek, and another early-morning photocall with my assistant, Iryna, as the model.

It's 200 years since Waterloo train station opened, and to celebrate, it has turned into a fashion catwalk. Spanning the ages from the fashion in the 1820s to the present day. This event required a pass from Waterloo Station. It wasn't that publicised as there were only two press photographers. But it was a fun event celebrating 200 years of fashion, featuring Waterloo Station uniforms from the past alongside passengers’ attire.

Taking place at the prestigious Tower of London, Prophetik's fashion show showcased beautiful designs for men and women for SS26. The artist is Jeff Gamer, from Tennessee, USA. This was part of London Fashion Week 2025, which ran until the 22nd September 2025. This was one of my favourite fashion shows of the September season, with beautiful clothes and a stunning setting. There was even a horse outside the Tower that most of the photographers missed because we were inside, which was a shame. The fashion show itself was one of the most challenging, as there were only a few seconds of light that fully lit the models as they walked. It was also very dark. I always love these challenges, and it was one of the reasons I bought the Nikon Z8 camera a few years ago, for its low-light capability. It excelled in this scenario.

This was a private shoot at a business meeting on the banks of the Thames. I was there to photograph the event and do some headshots. It was a nice location, which you can see from this shot of the view. I don’t share internal company events. It is good to mix these events with the press events I do.
The Great River Race is London’s River Marathon. It’s a spectacular boat race covering 21.6 miles from Millwall in the East to Richmond in the West, travelling under London’s famous bridges. The Great Boat Race is a charity event. These photos were taken on the morning of the 20th September 2025, the primary race, the Challenge trophy was won by Salty. I only had a short window to capture the start of the race as I had fashion shows to photograph a few hours later.

Next event was heading to Shoreditch for Fashion Scout fashion shows, part of London Fashion Week. When photographing fashion shows, it’s a good idea to head there early to mark your spot or have a friend do it for you. It's competitive and close to the centre, which is usually the best shot. Plus, on the first day, you need to collect your pass, which sometimes means queuing; getting there early is a must. On this day, I got there 2 hours early and marked my spot. Once you're done that, it is more relaxed. I had a chance to edit the photos and upload them to the News agency website for the Great Boat Race.
One of the things I love about London Fashion Week is photographing the people who go to the shows. London Fashion Week isn’t just about the clothes, it’s about the people watching them. The audience is a show in itself, a carefully curated mix of insiders, creatives, and culture-makers. You can read more about some of the people who came to the shows in my article on Fashion Police. This Los Angeles–based couture and ready-to-wear brand merges timeless elegance with modern artistry. Founded by Minaaz, the label was born out of a passion for crafting garments that reflect sophistication, confidence, and uniqueness. Every collection integrates worldwide influences with detailed craftsmanship, inspired by the designer’s experiences in California and the Middle East.

It’s day three of London Fashion Week, the first shows are part of a group called Ones to Watch, and Kimlin Designs is presenting at Fashion Scout. They were awarded the Fashion Scout Armenia 2024 prize. Founded in 2022 by designer Yeva Hovhannisyan and her mother Lin, the brand’s name combines their family heritage: “Kim" after Yeva’s grandfather, and “Lin" after her mother. KimLin’s vision is to create garments characterised by clean lines, precise seams, and distinctive silhouettes, blending technical excellence with a unique creative voice.

It’s day three of London Fashion Week, and the initial shows are part of a group called Ones to Watch, featuring Sonai’s designs at Fashion Scout. Established in 2019 by Sona Hovsepyan, a fashion designer from Armenia, the brand began with handcrafted bags and, over time, expanded into clothing, with its first collections debuting in 2023, following the founder’s graduation in 2024. Each step has been a journey of growth, driven by a passion for design and storytelling.

Selenee does not pursue the avant-garde purely for its own sake; instead, it operates on a philosophy in which craftsmanship, material innovation, and narrative design are integrated harmoniously.

It’s the third day of London Fashion Week, featuring standout shows listed under 'Ones to Watch,' such as Ruaa Elmansuri's collections at Fashion Scout. Ruaa Elmansuri, a London-based designer and Libyan artist, offers a womenswear line focused on storytelling and dreamlike visuals. Her brand embodies an ethereal grace, blending North African cultural influences with contemporary fashion trends.

The next Fashion Scout fashion show featured designer Fam Irvoll. Fam is a Norwegian fashion designer known for her playful and colourful creations. Her maximalist style distinguishes her from the typical Scandinavian minimalism, often embracing the imaginative and innovative by incorporating handmade 3D elements and bold prints. Although her designs are quirky and irreverent, they are also rooted in specific themes and perspectives. Whether she is addressing the politically feminine, reflecting youthful pop culture, or embracing an irony-laden nostalgic aesthetic, Fam always creates fashion with her heart first, championing the significance of tangible, handmade craftsmanship.
Next up is INFDark, a fashion brand for rebels, outsiders, and the unconventional. Established in 2011, INF is characterised by its precise tailoring, bold structures, and innovative pattern-making, crafted with obsessive attention to detail. Each garment makes a statement—meticulously constructed to challenge traditional silhouettes and push the boundaries of modern fashion. Founded by designer Kuo Wei, INF is founded on a philosophy of controlled chaos, where design is driven by paranoia and suspicion.
The last show of the day is Alisa Dudaj; she has slowly established herself as a prominent figure- a visionary Albanian designer blending cultural heritage with modern elegance. She graduated from the esteemed Parsons School of Design in New York. In 2022, with encouragement from well-known photographer Fadil Berisha, she entered the Muza Competition, where she triumphed over 350 competitors, winning top honours with her debut collection, Calidus. This collection features minimalist yet detailed handcrafted pieces created with Albanian artisans. Her work draws inspiration from the traditions of Gjirokastër and Shkodër, highlighting artisanal embroidery and craftsmanship while adopting a contemporary global style.
