I just want to play

On the verge of some big changes and shifts.

Sifting through a lot of old beliefs and patterns and just sitting with what comes up.

I’ve been feeling the pull to step away from social media a bit.

My soul is yearning for a break from the noise of it all.

When life starts to feel exhausting, I know that there’s an energy leak somewhere.

A hole that needs to be patched up.

And I am the only one responsible for protecting my energy. Protecting my peace. Protecting my joy.

In the group coaching container that I’m co-leading, one of our “homework assignments” to the group was to delete social media for 10 weeks

And, guess what… I didn’t do it.

Now, I know that I’m leading the group and not a participant and all… but the truth was that I actually really wanted to do it - but, I felt like I wasn’t allowed.

I thought “oh well I have my course to launch and I need to be consistent on social media to grow and I need to keep churning out the GNM content or people won’t be happy…” blah blah blah.

And then, recently, I had a radical thought… what if I just said “no” to literally every single thing that doesn’t light me up? Every single thing doesn’t feel like a true heck yes? Saying no to people pleasing and all of my contrived notions of what being a "good” person looks like or all the things I think I “should” do to be successful? Not posting something because I think it’s what people want to hear, but because I actually want to write it? Not following what lights me up in the name of business strategy or “branding” or whatever?

{ I cringe }

Because, as much as I’d like to think of myself as a “free” and “sovereign” human… goodness do I ever still do things because I care A. FREAKING. LOT. about what people think, want, or are asking of me.

Feeling the pressure of the constant demands of my energy and my time… not from anyone else, really, but from me. From all my imaginary shoulds.

So, time to knock it all down. Start from scratch.

To follow all of these little intuitive nudges and take time to rest. To exhale. To soften.

To stop go go go go going!!!! and slow down a little and turn my phone on airplane mode for a nice, long extended period of time.

To be blissfully unavailable.

This feels good. This feels right.

So, I’ll be taking a little ~pause~ from instagram for a few weeks. I’m also not currently accepting any new Symptom Clarity Session bookings.

I have so much brewing that I want to share with you all… and honestly I’m feeling the pull towards writing longer-form content.

I love GNM, but I also love so many other things. I want to talk and write about so many other things!! I want to be creative and expand beyond just rattling off which conflict is related to which symptom.

I want to go deeper. To question… to create… to play.

Hence the name of my new Substack - Perception Playground.

This will truly be a space for playing around with our perceptions. Little tweaks here and there that might just give us a better experience of what it’s like to be us.

I don’t really want to be taken seriously… I just want to play around for once.

A balm for my burnout.

I want to get really curious about how to thrive as a coach and support others without feeling the heaviness of it all. The pressure to Resolve! Fix! Figure out! Connect the dots! Find the conflict! Give advice without giving medical advice! And on and on.

My body has been begging me to slow down, to rest, to play… but I have not. At least, not really.

So, now is the time. A little pause to reflect and spend some time communing with my creativity.

Writing.

Playing.

Expanding.

Dreaming.

…cultivating what I actually want. What actually lights me up. In a way that feels truly delicious.

I want to create a soft place to land for those with “wellness burnout.”

To help you learn the language of your biology in a way that doesn’t feel… rigid. Or heavy.

To make healing fun again.

Where play is the protocol.

I want the way that I show up in my business (and my LIFE) to be slow, juicy, delicious…

Where the “work” is truly play.

Just messing around. Not taking myself so seriously. Not taking anything (including GNM) so. f*king. seriously!!!

Because, you know what matters to me more than the GNM framework itself? Me. My relationship to it. My authenticity. My integrity. My intuition.

Teaching it as ME, not as an authority or top expert.

In the recent past, I think I related to it in a way that felt suffocating. Afraid of saying the wrong thing. Afraid of people not liking the way I teach it or criticizing me (which, surprise surprise, happens anyways!!!). Afraid of being called ~gasp~ WRONG. Or a member of the deep state or whatever (IYKYK). Idk, pick your poison 😂

And honestly? That kind of fear-based pressure was sucking the joy right out of something I deeply love. It made everything feel more like performance than presence.

So when I say I’m “rebranding” and changing and shifting - I don’t just mean new fonts or colors. I mean a reinvention of self. A return to me.

Because, guess what? You are the brand.

I want this little Substack nook to feel like a big exhale as you cozy up with a warm bevy. A giant permission slip to let your healing be play. To let your “work” be play. To let your living be play. I hope my words feel like a bit of a kick in the a** and a warm hug all at the same time. Lean into the triggers as we enter the realm of curiosity and possibility.

What if there are no rules?

A delicious expansion.

I recently chatted about this with two of my mentors. I said that I felt stuck around feeling as if I was bound to all of these unwritten rules around “what I need to do to grow my business.” And, tbh, it felt HEAVY. And I had a general sense of just “not knowing what I need to do” or “what expert I need to listen to” to grow my business. It felt really clunky and heavy. There was this general sense of dread as I looked at my growing to-do list (well, things I *thought* I needed to do) and thought “UGH I need to figure out email marketing and social media strategy and how to set up a freaking LANDING PAGE.

All of these things are cool and, when you relate to them in a way that feels good, expansive, and fun, I think it can be great to lean into!

But, the way that I’ve been relating to these things is “UGH lemme just get this over with and figure it out and do what I need to do so that THEN I can focus on the parts of my business that light me up and are truly fun for me.”

And, lemme tell ya, that sh*t’s probably not going to work very well. At least not when it comes to attracting your dream clients and cultivating your dream life.

What if there aren’t these set rules that we have to adhere to? What if growth and expansion can look radically different for every single person?

What if following what truly lights you up and feels like the next best step is, in fact, the very best next step?

What if YOU already have all the answers within you? What if you don’t need more education and being told what’s wrong with you and what the magic pill is?

YOU ARE THE PLACEBO.

YOU ARE THE MAGIC PILL.

YOU are the creator of your own reality… you are the author of the conflict AND the resolution.

Let’s make healing fun again. Expansive again. Playful again.

Because, dear friend, that is truly your natural state. It is your birthright.

Unraveling with curiosity + play,

Abigail
