SubhanAllah… today I learned something that shifted my entire perspective.
In class, the ustadh asked:

“Why do people die?”
Most of us answered:
“Because their time (ajal) has come.”
He said: No
No.
“They die because their rizq has been exhausted.”
And the room went silent.
We’ve reduced rizq to money.Salary.
Business. Financial stability.
But this perspective flips that fear on its head.
Allah says:
“There is no creature on earth except that its provision is upon Allah…”
Not just food. Not just wealth.
Your entire existence is Rizq, moment by moment, as long as there is a single sip of water, a single grain of rice, or even one more breath decreed for you, the world cannot take you.
So when a person dies, it’s not just that their time ended…It’s that their share of provision in this dunya is complete.
Nothing left to receive. Nothing left written.
And suddenly…anxiety about rizq starts to look different because as long as you are still here, your rizq is still flowing.
Even if your bank account is empty.
Even if life feels unstable.
Even if the economy is collapsing around you.
If you are still breathing… Allah is still providing.
We panic over future provision while we are literally living inside present provision.
Tawakkul hits different when you realise this:You are not chasing rizq. You are living inside it. This realization kills two of the heart’s greatest sicknesses:
• Anxiety: If it’s written for you, it’s coming.
• Envy: If it’s written for someone else, it was never yours to begin with.
We spend so much energy worrying about our “security.” But your ultimate security is the fact that you are still breathing.
You woke up today, that means your rizq for today has already been written and delivered.Your Ajal (time) isn’t a countdown of minute, it’s a countdown of blessings. When the table is cleared and the last crumb is eaten, only then do we go home.
May Allah make us people who recognise His provision before we only recognise its absence.
