There is certainly no shortage of photo editing apps for the Mac, with options available at all price points and catering to all niches. And while the top-tier competition is really a three-way race between Capture One, PhotoLab and Lightroom, it’s in the mid-range, mid-price, mid-market niche where things get crowded.
Darkroom, Muse, Photomator, Pixelmator Pro, Luminar, Camerabag Pro, Nitro, RAW Power, Photoscape, ACDSee and ON1 Photo RAW all sit in that sub $100 price range, and now we have a new contender.
Is it more of the same, or does Photo Developer bring anything new to the table? Short answer: it does, but not where you’d expect.
