We hope you all had a good summer and took some time off to relax and recharge. 💚We did as well, and so as you might have noticed, we had to skip the September newsletter.
We are back, and it seems that there will be lots of interesting activities in October to make up for it!
Alex went to visit her family in California and Gosia in Poland, so we took a short break from exploring events, exhibits, and other interesting climate-related activities in Veneto.

Since it looks like we will be quite busy until the end of the year, and Alice has now left Venice to pursue her career goals (we will miss her amazing research skills!), we are asking for help.

Alex: As I am quite passionate about active transportation (and pretty annoyed at the impact of too many cars in the city), I cannot recommend the War on Cars podcast enough. The episode I found not only insightful but also funny is the one with Nick Offerman, actor, and writer, where he talks about his experience biking in cities, his views on how we share public space, and our relationship with nature. 🚵♂️
I leave you with some of my favourite quotes from this episode, maybe they will inspire you to give it a listen (ok, there is some swearing, but it adds to the charm):

Alex: Poiché sono molto appassionata di trasporto attivo (e piuttosto infastidito dall'impatto di troppe auto in città), non posso che suggerire il podcast War on Cars. L'episodio che ho trovato non solo interessante ma anche divertente è quello con Nick Offerman, attore e scrittore, in cui parla della sua esperienza in bicicletta in città, del suo punto di vista su come condividiamo lo spazio pubblico e del nostro rapporto con la natura. 🚵♂️

Gosia ci consiglia un ottimo articolo del Guardian sui programmi di piantagione di alberi che sono benefici per la biodiversità. 🌳
Se siete curiosi di sapere perché, invece di coltivare piantagioni commerciali di alberi, dovremmo concentrarci maggiormente sulla conservazione e sul ripristino delle foreste autoctone, questo articolo fa per voi.
