The love I have for God now, is an answered prayer.

Prompt - Write about a time when God answered your prayer (or didn't). What happened? What did you learn? How did it affect your faith?

I have prayed a lot of prayers in my life — some very deep, personal, and hard. And then some that might seem silly, like, “Holy Spirit, please help me find my keys, or my socks, or my scarf.”

But Apostle Paul once wrote:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” — Philippians 4:6

So, I took that very seriously.

The first prayer I ever remember praying, I must have been around three or four years old. I prayed for my parents to get a new car, specifically one that looked like a car I had seen. I remember going into their room, climbing on their bed, and saying the prayer as though I was going up the mountain to meet with God. 😂 And guess what? God answered. They did get the car.

I’ve had many answered prayers but one of the most precious answered prayers in my life is this: the love I now have for God.

There was a time when the only song on my lips was simply, “Lord, set my heart on fire for You. I want to burn for You.” And today, I can say that the desire to know Him more deeply, to walk closely with Him, to be intimate with Him, is being fulfilled. That’s the answered prayer I hold dearest.

I don’t really believe there’s such a thing as unanswered prayers. Sometimes, God answers in ways we didn’t expect, or in ways we’re still learning to see. Either way, He hears. He responds. And my(our) part is to trust.

I almost did not write today beloved, but I think that’s how consistency is meant to work? Showing up even when you don’t feel like, right?

I’ve had the longest day, running on four hours of sleep. We had a children’s outreach today and my head hurts from talking to the children. We don’t celebrate primary school teachers enough mennn, we don’t!

See you tomorrow, okay?

Take care, Selah💛
